I think the wording is ‘Advised not to work across multiple sites’. There is no ban as such as this was seen as potentially causing harm and issues as most ages care facilities run on fumes and often need to get people in at short notice to cover shifts and also the workers can sometimes only be offered a few hours a week at any facility.

The bit they are playing say staffing at aged care "only get offered the Commonwealth Vaccine IF they happen to have spare" is possibly one of the stupidest policies I have heard. Ring to see if I can refuse to allow anyone at my place to come to work if they refuse to get a vaccine. I have hundreds+++ of over 50 and a few at or close the the 100 year old mark. Just doing my training update. Cut and paste police alert[bigwhistle]

In Australia, the COVID-19 case fatality ratio increased substantially with age, from 0.6% in those aged 50–64 years, to 7.0% in those aged 65–79 years and 33.8% in those aged over 80 years (ATAGI, 2021b).

James, we don't have a problem with C&P per se, but it has to be attributed, relivant and justified.

States don't allow it, but the federal government does. These outbreaks are in federal aged care, not state.

I guess that from SA Health's point of view if the infections aren't in SA then the system was successful.

And how did it happen?

This seems to have been the critical moment where infection passed to Case A, who then went to Victoria, unwittingly spreading the virus as he went. Notably, SA Health claims that there were “adequate ventilation levels in the corridor” but that perhaps the “adequate ventilation” hadn’t had time to flush away the virus-laden air exhaled by Case B.

Clearly the ventilation in the corridor wasn't adequate ..... and as a result a city of 5 million is in lockdown.

Not looking good for the lockdown to end on Friday. Prof Mary-Louise McLaws says it normally needs at least a 14 day infection cycle, and preferably 28 days, to track and suppress a Covid outbreak.

Yes, heard that on the ABC tonight. Apparently the restriction has been re-instated due to the latest out break.

The Vic state run aged care homes have stuck with the restriction since it started apparently.

Covid death total toll in Vic private aged care: over 600 (655 in the report tonight).

Toll in state run aged care: 0

Surely suggests something is amiss with 'duty of care' or something.
