    The fact that he has been nominated does not mean that anyone is considering giving him lots of money and laurels. Read up on the nomination process and its significance.

    Toll in state run aged care: 0

    Surely suggests something is amiss with 'duty of care' or something.

    It appears the reason given for lifting the restriction is there is funding that goes with it. They were trying to save money. I guess in a way that's understandable, given the money already spent. But ethical? EDIt. the funding was designed to keep the workers pay at a level where there would be no loss of wages for not working two or three jobs.

    Well, if that is true then it will go a long way to containing the spread. NOT.
    A fat lot of good that will do. Which nitwit makes these decisions?

    I can relate to this circumstance 4bee.

    I once worked in a government organisation which at the time had one of the most powerful radio transmitters in Oz. There were 11 people who worked in the immediate vicinity of the transmitter. Years later they are all mostly dead or in aged care homes because they all developed severe Alzheimers sometimes in conjunction with cancer. Two and two do make 4 in this instance for me.

    I consider myself fortunate in that my office was a hundred yards away in another building.

    I'm sure the managers of the facilities thought they were doing the right thing by their shareholders , the whole mess could be sorted by employing more staff, and paying them a wage that they could live off. But then of course, the cost of aged care would go through the roof. And it would open Pandora's box for other low wage jobs wanting more .

    Depends a bit on which 'Prize' is being handed around... To be considered, would be of itself a sitisfying career moment.

    Apologies to the worthy, but "Peace" seems to be more politics than passifying ... Used to be biased to a Very Honest Person Trying Hard to discourage wars. Linus Pauling, who scored one of these AND a Chemistry gong. Both all by himself.

    His final comment:-

    It is high time to go back to the proven facts and to their critical examination without a priori. In all countries, experimental vaccinations were followed by an increase in contamination and mortality attributed to Covid19 and the appearance of mutants. As long as the phenomenon has not been elucidated, a moratorium on anticovid vaccinations is essential and urgent.

    Why the Vic Health officials are more concerned about the present variant of the virus, than before. Now there is " stranger to stranger " spread. Just a brief contact between complete strangers has been seen as enough to spread the disease. There are at least 4 instances of transmission such as brushing past each other in a small shop, or looking at phones in a Telstra shop. From inqld.;

    'Stranger to stranger': Only fleeting contact enough to spread virus, say officials (inqld.com.au)
