Actually I wasn't, and if you hadn't mentioned in (in jest or otherwise) I'd never have looked it up. See, by talking about history people who weren't aware might become aware (and therefore learn to understand why it shouldn't be repeated). By whitewashing/burying/re-writing history nobody has the chance to learn from it.

On the other hand, we can censor free speech, shelve our senses of humour and don't ever say anything that might possibly offend anyone.

Then again, apply a bit of heat and the snowflakes melt. Viva la difference.

A bit more tolerance and patience I would suggest! Those numbers are reflective of infection that more than likely happened up to two weeks ago (1 incubation period) before the ramifications of their actions or those around them were clearly known about or wrong was realised. If after two incubation periods (28 days approx) the numbers are showing the same rate of increase, then questions can rightly be asked about attitudes, practices and behavior. Remember, there is a lag between getting infected and showing infection.

Dan Andrews needs to get some mongrel and deal with those idiots that don't isolate themselves. There's plenty of power to deal with them under the Public Health Act. We used to do it for rampant AIDS spreaders and this is far more serious.

Get tough on the crazy people before it's too late!!

More than 200 people are missing from quarantine in Queensland

More than 200 people who were meant to be isolating at home under strict coronavirus quarantine laws in Queensland are missing.
Since mid-April more than 2,000 compliance checks have been conducted by the COVID-19 taskforce, with officers uncovering almost 400 people were not where they were supposed to be.
Of those flouting the rules, 185 had given health officials false contact details, including addresses where they were alleged to have been isolating at.
Another 25 people had given authorities the correct information but when police visited they were nowhere to be found.
Police said 210 people remained unaccounted for and were wanted for questioning.
If found, they are likely to face hefty fines for breaking the stringent stay-at-home laws in place to curb the spread of the virus.
Of the remaining people not abiding by the self-quarantine rules, police confirmed 125 people had left the state during the period they were subject to the orders.

A vaccine is at least a year away, but it is coming.

"Almost all of the people who caught the coronavirus in the past week had been infected in the community and men are most at risk.
Statistics released on Thursday show that while older men are most likely to die, young Australians are more commonly contracting the coronavirus.
And they’re spreading it in public, with more than 98 per cent of cases in the past week a result of local transmission."

"There are fears NSW is on a similar path to Victoria after an aged-care worker at Ashfield Baptist Homes in Sydney’s inner-west tested positive to COVID-19."

If they were meant to be isolating at home would that not mean that they were Queensland residents returning from a hotspot? If that is the case it makes the statements about entering queensland a privelege look a bit stupid or does contracting coronavirus exclude one from the right to reside in the land of the big peanut?

Enough of the stupid xenophobia, we're all Australians and Queensland has been lucky, not clever, to have not had an outbreak along with not taking nearly as many overseas travellers as Sydney or Melbourne.

That's a fantasy. The" stupid xenophobia " started from you lot with personal attacks on our Premier [ politically motivated, ] eagerly taken up by some here for their own reasons. Put it down to social media madness.
QLD has the most experienced CMO of all the States, and by following her advice we have been able to keep things under control. So far. Not luck, but old fashioned hard work, not helped by the incompetent work of NSW Health on the Ruby Princess. Our early border closure, so castigated by some here, saved us the fate of Victoria [ and everyone up here feel for those caught up in this horror, stay strong, people] , and what is seeming to be the fate of NSW, as well. We feel for them as well. 10,000 fines for those trying to enter Qld , and not sticking to the COVID -19 rules, tells its own story.

If you insecure lot from down south stop trying to invent fantasies for your own shortcomings, and just stick to the facts, and the COVID-19 rules, we may just get somewhere towards winning the fight with this virus.
