Due for #2 on 10th of August.
When this first started to get serious I went to my GP last year for a talk about my risks of getting the vaccine. We talked through my medical history, any risks involved with AZ, and I came away wanting the vaccine. However, the medical centre earmarked as a vaccine " hub ", told me they were only getting 50 doses a week from the suppliers and to put my name on " the list " and they would get back to me when tranche 1A had been vaccinated. At the beginning of 2021 the vaccination confusion as to AZ blood clots, etc had made a lot of people cancel their jabs. So they rang and said come down, we will put you in a cancellation spot. My wife and I took advantage of that, and now my second jab is on the 7th July. We both had to fill out an online form which took a while. I notified by phone my GP, and she printed out my medical history for perusal by the vaccination nurse, which I picked up from the front desk. And now I have a runny nose, getting tested today. I see any confusion coming from mixed messages from authorities under pressure from a situation that was .....wait for it...unprecedented. Less chest thumping and telling the world how good we were and more effort into vaccination probably would have been better, but I'm just a pensioner with a runny nose, what would I know.

Investigations are underway, but there are suggestions that the vaccination confusion has led to her waiting for Pfizer, as not being a front line worker, [ she is a concierge] she didn't qualify for the essential services jab. That works on all strains, except Delta. . Her work station was outside the covid ward where returning travellers are sent from quarantine . Her brother has tested positive and her Mum and Dad not reported as either yet. That poor girl must be devastated , she did the right thing by getting tested as soon as symptoms presented . Looking for a testing site today, The PM's media interview here.

Oh another ‘unfortunate error’ by the PM. Poor bugger.

The rush by under 40’s towards what ATAGI says is an unsafe vaccine for anyone under 60 is a direct result of the Federal governments incompetence in procuring enough quantity / variety of vaccines and failing to build dedicated quarantine facilities.

The patience of the Australian people is the only thing keeping Covid19 at bay…and that patience is running out…

All Australians should have had access to Pfizer / Moderna by now.

It’s very sobering to consider that the entire Australian population (25million) is only 1/6 th of the fully vaccinated population of the USA (150million)!

When I was born, I had a runny nose and a dirty nappy. Now I have a runny nose, and if this Delta thing gets any closer, I predict dirty undies.

Just watched the QLD Premier's media conference , and the gloves are off. We can expect robust discussions across the board. What a shame it has been allowed to come to this.

I just watched my first, Qld Premier's Covid update and really, there was not much substance to it, in my opinion. Where is the real info.

Are these people who have covid-19 actually sick? Are they on death's door? Are they just a bit crook? Is this thing as deadly as first thought? Are the pollies 'Making hay while the sun shines'?
The longer this goes on, the more it would appear that the populace is being drip fed information, based on good old 'Need to Know' methodology.

The media conference is really an update on the recent outbreak. Which is the priority ATM. The information you seek is out there, it's not hidden away. It's a pity circumstances have turned these conferences into a political tit for tat. The important thing is the population is kept informed on the status of the outbreak. And any change in restrictions.

So, out of 1700 known cases in Qld, 40 are hospitalised, with nought in ICU. Now, while this is good news, indeed, it still seems to me that, looking at those figures, there is a lot of knee-jerking still going on.

Not to mention brownie points but, I'm not privvy to the CA thread (or is it a yarn?) so, I'll just leave that there.

I'm not sure what you are suggesting. Do you suggest that we shouldn't take this threat seriously? Are you saying that we should just let people get infected, and let the virus run its course? Are you saying you don't acknowledge the good work done by health professionals, and contact tracers, and indeed, State Governments with the restrictions put in place. To me it's a curious attude to suggest none of the efforts matter. Sometimes it seems that the furthur away from the epicentre the more out of touch with reality people become. I'll be happy to have zero in ICU , kneejerk or not.

Good points. We don't hear much, if anything, about those who have succumbed after being tested +. If any, that is.

Have they all been buried en masse in Canberra's lovely gardens like we saw in South America & Italy or have they got over it or are we not being told?

    Cynical? Moi?
