Nearly right from the start of this episode last year it was known that mandatory mask wearing was slightly more effective than vaccination in curbing transmission.

There must be some massive political no no with that, ongoing.

Yes, of course they should all be vacced. Must be some equally dumb political reason if they're not.

Because unlike those viruses it is infectious when asymptomatic and spreads more easily.

Just because it was first diagnosed in China doesn't prove it started there. The 'Spanish Flu' didn't start in Spain in 1918.
China has high medical standards so is more likely to diagnose a new virus than other countries in its region.

BTW Australian bats have not been found to have SARS2, so sleep easy.

Canada can re-open because 80% of them have had at least one vaccine dose:

Where are our 26 million vaccines?


Oh by the way: prior to the vaccines Canada was not doing well:

Australia: 25.36 million people. Canada: 37.59 million people

Australia: 30,642 cases Canada: 1,415,284 cases

Australia: 910 deaths. Canada: 26,295 deaths

Australia: 3.59 deaths per million. Canada: 698.2 deaths per million

That's:

• 28.9 times more deaths on 1.48 times more people

• 195 times more deaths per million than Australia.
