I was interested to read a comment that even if we can't immediately get a Covid vax, it is still a good idea to get an influenza vax. It won't stop a Covid infection, but it does stimulate the immune system, which may improve our general resistance to viruses.
163 new cases in Sydney, including 71 in the community. It just keeps getting worse.
Fragments of covid found in waste water testing on Jul 20 and 22 in New Plymouth, Taranaki, NZ. Covid-19: Ministry of Health says any symptomatic people in Taranaki should get tested | Stuff.co.nz
People are being urged to get tested if symptomatic. We (NZ) are in the middle of an RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus) outbreak at the moment so there are plenty of people with plenty of symptoms.
In the words of the Joker "And. Here. We. Go..."
Nothing happened in the movie when he said it so I am hoping nothing happens here and it is simply someone shedding after recovering.
From ‘gold standard’ to squeaky wheel… whinge!
Why would other states cancel Pfizer appointments, put their citizens at risk and donate vaccines to NSW when their ‘lockdown’ is a joke?
NSW records 163 new COVID cases, Health Minister Brad Hazzard takes aim at other states - ABC News
After aunty Glad and the duke of hazard's monumental cock up of containing this Delta variant and infecting 3 others states they now want the other States jabs which will make the other States even more vunerable to their miss management[bigwhistle]
Its a complete joke isn't it!
Wouldn't the states be better off setting up a second or third ring of defence around the outbreak by vaccinating their own states?
Or to use the aircraft oxygen mask or first aid principles of ensuring your own safety before helping others?
How effective is a singe dose of AZ or Pfizer against Delta?
I thought a singe dose was almost worthless, and that you needed both doses.

We are going to be having circular conversations and same same media morning garbage from our 'leaders' for the next few months until enough vaccine is in the country and enough people get off their umming and ahring backsides and get jabbed.
The government has screwed the Astrazeneca product and themselves with their 'abundance of caution' but 'now it's ok' mixed messaging.
They dumped the Queensland vaccine at the start of the year because of the 'public perception' issue of an occasional false HIV positive.
How many bugs, bushfires and floods does it take to work out the 1 in a 100 year events happen far more than once a century and deal with it outside the election to election cycle.
And since everyone is lining up for covid testing why is there no parallel program to actually track who has been already infected and got over it with no symptoms, we have no clue where it has been and I am sure there must already be quite a number of citizens that are now more resistant to infection than early last year. Not to mention the percentage of the population that is just not going to get infected even if they cover themselves in it because that's just lucky them.
