The young ones are also seemingly not as susceptible to this virus. As long as social distancing and hygiene protocols are followed there shouldn’t be any significant risk (unless the child is in a risk group eg Immune system compromised).
I’ve just spent the day speaking with the Government Health teams, working on site protocols and prevention measures. It’s a serious thing - but nothing we can’t beat with some simple behaviours.
And therein lies the problem - convincing people to not be so ****ing selfish for about 2-4 weeks of their lives.
Just turned off the highway to see a local footy club room fully occupied with a bunch of morons all having a beer and a laugh.... selfish bar stewards!
I was talking to the manager of a bottle shop today who reckons the next stage is they will go drive through only.
He said the problem at the moment is that customers pick up bottles, leaving their germs on them, and then put them down for the bext person to pick up and acquire their germs.
So my advice would be not to take the front bottle, but pick the one at the back, which might be germ free.
He also said there is a lot of stockpiling of alcohol going on. While I was there a woman came in and bought 30 bottles of Jack Daniels - 30 bottles!
I was also talkng to a student paramedic who is in his final year here in Tassie who said he has just accepted an offer by Ambulance Victoria of a contract to move over there and work. It includes Ambulance Victoria signing him off for his final year of study, which is.mainly work experience.
So Ambulance Victoria must be preparing for a lot of ambos to go down sick and for a spike in demand.
I see hairdressers are still open. I wonder how you cut someone's hair while staying 1.5 metres away. Do hairdressers need Go Gadget robot arms?
I had the same thought this afternoon, it seems like an obvious omission. (Re the houses of ill repute that is)

Pales into insignificance to the handling of fruit and veg at fruit shops and supermarkets - people coughing over your tomatoes and testing how firm the avos are - I cannot believe some food goods (particularly those that are eaten raw with skins) are still allowed to be sold without packaging.
Years ago self serve salad bars had to be removed from supermarkets because of the poor hygiene habits of some people.
