Having grown up on a farm, and being the one from a young age designated to be the one to dispatch foxes, rabbits and sick animals, I can promise you that a 20 pack of 22LR will be sufficient for a couple of years.
Ammunition is not actually a heavy use item on any farm I can think of in Australia.
