4, Your tenancy agreement WILL immediately extend by 6 months if it expires during the 6 month freeze on evictions. Tenants will be automatically entitled to a 6-month extension of the tenancy agreement meaning any protections may last up to 12-months.

5,Your tenant/s can REFUSE ENTRY for anything other than emergency repairs. Not only can your tenant refuse access, they don’t have participate in virtual property inspections either. There’s also no clarity as to whether prospective purchasers can inspect a property that is for sale.

6,Your tenant/s can BREAK A LEASE with only 7 days’ notice. To make matters worse, you cannot recover any lost rent or costs associated with finding a new tenant as would normally apply.
It is quiteunfairto the landlords and agents,these rental law reforms don’t get the balance right. They unfairly impact the property rights of many owners and will hurt people like small ‘mum and dad’ investors and self-funded retirees.

So if you have leased property in Qld you are at the whim of the tenants and if you dont agree then tough. Some sort of expedited review process should have been put in place.

As I've seen on so many internet sites, and indeed in some questions I have had, a common answer has been, "Deal with it",.....and I am trying to do exactly that, & do I like it? NO,...I do not,......but what can I do,.....we're all in the same boat.
I do know this though, we are in a better position than any other country on the planet, so IMHO, whatever we are all suffering here, it is worse everywhere else.
Can somebody name a country in a better position than Aussie at this time?

I know you are genuinely concerned about the future, not all people are so honourable and believe in "never waste a crisis....(to get what you want)".

Planes don't just carry passengers, but also cargo, in the form of parcels, packages, even fresh produce to export markets. Also I think the old adage of "you break it, you buy it" can be applied. For a long time I've also thought that this should be applied in natural disasters, if the gov't or their representatives issues an evacuation order they should assume any losses thereafter.

As to a better country than Aus. versus the virus.....statistically I think it is still N. Korea with no reported cases!

My wife had the official test yesterday, she confirmed that the test is not pleasant and brought tears to her eyes. Has some sick leave to cover her time off.

That triggered my work to send me home for the next three days while we wait for results. I get full pay even if I need to stay home for 14 days and I don’t have to use any form of leave.

Daughter is hoping a neg result comes through by Thursday arvo so that she doesn’t loose and shifts at her work.

Virgin Australia has been renamed Australia as they have been ****ed by corona.

I read that Velocity is a separate company, although owned by Virgin, and Velocity is NOT in administration.

I also think it's unbelievable that some Americans are demonstrating for their right to get infected, meaning some will die. Either gullible or just dumb, I think.

The coronavirus has created a remote area groceries crisis. I was having a chat to a mate who has a mate at St George [ I know [bighmmm]] who said when the State was closed down, heaps of Grey Nomads were crossing the border at Hungerford, to by pass the lock down. In response, 800 soldiers and 4 police were tasked to man the crossing points across the West. As a result of that, when in Qld. these caravanners had to quarantine themselves in the nearest towns, putting pressure on the infrastructure , namely groceries. However this particular crisis is centred on remote aboriginal communities.


Coronavirus struggle exacerbates remote groceries crisis
