You are not the only one either. He had better luck than me, I can't even find socks in my sock drawer. [Makes note to speak to indoors about that, & Darning those I do have.][bigrolf]
Ian must have driven in very quietly,(In a bloody great Truck?????) so quiet he may have been going to nick the clothesline stuff as well.
One US GP (doctor's) blog I sometimes look up also suspected this. On refelction, reckoned a few of his patients from mid/late last year, , had come down with a particularly aggressive flu, - described them as 'slam-dunked' from perfect health to misery in a matter of hours. All recovered.
There were no cases last year. Try and think logically.
France has found a person who tested positive to Covid -19 back in December, before China even reported the Wuhan outbreak to the WHO, so it is very possible there have been numerous undiagnosed cases around the world that were assumed to be influenza and never diagnosed as Covid-19.
The USA had the virus circulating widely well before Trump belatedly stopped flights. The New York virus came from Europe, particularly Milan, and spread around most of the USA, while the Washington strain came from China and is less widespread in the USA.
Remember, coronaviruses are not new - they are numerous and widespread. We have Hendra and Lyssavirus, but our bats don't have SARS 2, which is what causes Covid-19. I have been vaccinated against Lyssavirus, incidentally.
We have to get over this politically-ibspired obsession with blaming China for SARS 2, when they were merely the first to diagnose it, because China has high medical standards. We must recognise that the world has always been awash in deadly viruses, but most don't usually jump to humans (we hope [emoji15]).
Now that SARS 2 is infecting humans it will inevitably become endemic, so we will all get it eventually, and if they find a vaccine that will merely limit its severity and spread. So, that's something to look forward too. [emoji53]
