Not a bad deal. Commit break and enter, tamper with motor vehicles and theft and then a government funded ride home with the gear stolen....
And at it again the next night...

We have good friends that used to own a huge cattle property near Coen. The wife was the local nurse, and had been for over 40yrs.When indigenous people had a family member,or any relative, in hospital in Cairns, there were regular private flights to visit them, often 3 times a week,at taxpayers expense. And accommodation in Cairns.

They also get free tax payer paid taxi rides to correctional centres to visit friends, relatives, whoever.

There is a lot of this type of thing that goes on that many don't know about.

Not quite the same but waste neverthe less, but had a friend who was a screw in Yatala "Labour" Prison
Told us that the kitchen had to prepare boiled eggs for the total motley crew' Each day only a few were consumed leaving some hundreds for the rubbish bin.

Each day they did the same thing & into the bin went the googs.

Seems that a riot would have ensued if they didn't have boiled eggs for breakfast. Eaten or not.

This was verified by another screw aquaintance

We have been contracted to work in correctional centres/youth centres for 30 yrs,i could write a book about that sort of thing.

What you are talking about would be less than .001% of actual wastage,it would be millions each year.

    Can't say anymore,on a public forum.

Correcting some of the claims made above about people coming top Australia with the virus.

I am an Australian citizen or permanent resident

All travellers arriving in Australia must undertake a mandatory 14-day quarantine at designated facilities (for example, a hotel), in their port of arrival.

You can travel to Australia if you are an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, an immediate family member of an Australian citizen or permanent resident or are a New Zealand citizen usually resident in Australia. If you are an immediate family member holding a temporary visa you will need to provide us with evidence of your relationship.

Travellers who have a compassionate or compelling reason to travel to Australia will need to have an exemption from the Australian Border Force Commissioner.

    All Others

All travellers arriving in Australia must undertake a mandatory 14-day quarantine at designated facilities (for example, a hotel), in their port of arrival.

Travel restrictions are subject to change. Some exemptions are in place. Please check back regularly.

I would imagine that when overseas students are allowed to return they will also be required to do a 2 week quarantine.

Yes - saw an article yesterday about the Canberra universities getting together to organise the quarantine jointly. It wasn't said, but I would guess in designated student accommodation.

With jobs in the balance, plus national debt, now would be a good time to re-visit the old fashioned idea of making / manufacturing more products IN Australia. - Remember when we not only built our own washing machines and fridges, but electrical cable, electronic components, and even nuts and bolts ? Even dunnies Remeber those? - the ones with a better surface....

And these were made in Melbourne around 1985 .... they're in mint condition and I understand are quite valuable ....
