If I have to go on the wallaby, I'll head that way.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

This afternoon, SWMBO and I were enjoying a coffee at Batemans Bay shopping centre.

As the coffee shop was directly outside Coles, we amused ourselves by playing a game of "Spot the shopper who has NOT come out with a 24 pack of toilet paper."

Those without toilet paper were few and far between and to be fair, some of them only had 12 packs, but a couple had multiple 24 packs.

My guess is that we saw about forty or fifty shoppers and those without toilet paper probably numbered fewer than ten.

Aldi had none on the shelves.

I used to love bread fried in dripping. Unfortunately, that stopped 50 years ago as my wife never uses dripping in her cooking.

Interestingly nothing posted for the GC yet a number of confirmed cases?
Also here on the northern rivers, a visiting lecturer at SCU Lismore tested positive when returning to Manila on the weekend.

I'm a self funded retiree too, I think last week I could've moved into cash, takes around 6 days to get into cash, so too late for me now,...God knows where funds will be this time next week.

Haven’t seen a single roll available in any shop I’ve been in for over a week now - not that I need it, but it is fun to watch people dash around the corner to get some to find the shelves empty. Feel sorry for those legitimately needing a few rolls and not being able to get them to be honest - everyone has regular access to shops or multiple shops - those of us with our transport and a few dollars tend to forget the less fortunate that will really be struggling through this, particularly if it gets worse.

No pasta, rice, long life milk, or frozen meals in one store either - and very low on dog and cat food.

Luckily the run on cheese hasn’t been there, so stocked up with a few Kg of vintage cheddar that was on sale - that will keep me going - and reduce the need for loo paper too.... Win/win. 😆👍

I have come across a few people lately who are jumping up and down suggesting that the government should be taking all sorts of drastic measures which involve restricting people's freedom. They are also aghast that various public events are allowed to proceed.

That wouldn't be noteworthy if it weren't for the fact that most of them are the same people who in the past have complained about "nanny state" regulations. Surely if they were consistent, they would take the line that it isn't anyone else's job to decide whether they should take the risk of attending the function.

I am neither advocating nor condemning the restrictions or bans, just making the observation that I think I see some inconsistency in some people's stand.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, that's my opinion!
I've referred to Vic as the "Nanny State" plenty of times, happy to do so, particularly in relation to the "Lewis Burnout" issue, from where the term emanated.
Coincidentally, the same "Burnout Man" several minutes ago just said He was "shocked" to be in Melb, and that the event should've been cancelled, like many other major events. (I'm sure his comments will be all over the media)
In this case, Victoria have been inconsistent, they haven't lived up to their "conservative" Nanny image, if they had, they would've cancelled the event days ago!

It is never too late. Put it in cash now, in 6 days time you will be quarantined from any catastrophic falls. You may lose a bit , but not all. It will take the stress out of your life, worrying about how much you'll have at the end. And you'll have a base to work off, when it comes good. And it will.
