Explain to me Why it is a GOOD thing that there are a bunch of potentially infected tourists all bunched up together in a caravan park for a couple of weeks before entering the State.
IF these people were to do "The Right thing" then they would have stayed at home in the first place.

According to an article this a.m. We never had a first wave it was a trial one????? The real 1st wave when it/if it hits is going to be a real doozy.

With things seemingly going Tits Up with China who doesn't think that is a real possibility?

Ok, I'll keep this a simple as possible. Look at the timeline, it's just possible these people had left Victoria before the new lock down, and it's even more possible that they don't come from the hot spots. Now that's supposition, but assuming [ and I know you know what happens when we assume] that is the case, two weeks is the quarantine time that has been set by the medical experts. No symptoms after two weeks, it's safe to assume they may cross over without risking the Qld population. Now two weeks is the current benchmark for quarantine, which could change even as I'm typing this , such is the nature of this pandemic. So far [ touch wood] thousands have crossed into Qld at the border crossings , legally, and no sign of any infection spread. [ and over a thousand have been turned back, a big thank you for the people on border control.]Every one up here knows we are on a razors edge, and no one is complacent. But, for the sake of the country, Anna is leaving the border open, with restrictions. And for those who think this border opening is about the Qld tourism, think again. Every Qlder I speak to is bunkering down, staying at home until we find out if the beast is back here. Qld tourism was set for locals to take up the slack, but for now it will be the thousands of southerners, who, by the way, are spending their money in NSW towns and van parks on their way North. Those wishing to travel should not " stay home ". If they are honest, and do all the right things, there is no reason not to travel, at this point.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I think this scenario is more like it. The shuddering reality of a patchwork pandemic. And leaders should curb their politically based criticism, it may come back to bite them.

Who modelled an Australian recovery with Melbourne spending an extra month in lockdown and the NSW-Victoria border shut, Gladys Berejiklian having to endure the humiliation of eating her many and incessant words of criticism of Annastacia Palaszczuk?

Consumer spending in France & Germany is almost back to pre - lockdown levels, due to , in the main part, Government support during the lock down.

In Tweed today and the traffic is gridlocked right through town to almost South Tweed.
I was lucky enough to get to where I'm working.

I feel for anyone caught up in it.

At least you are well balanced, a chip on both shoulders. I've never blamed any one , directly. Just presented the facts, and, unfortunately, the facts speak for themselves.

They said on the news possibly a 90 minute wait

Last Sunday at 8.30pm,it was an 80 minute wait and that was before they started the extra checks they are doing now.

Hopefully on the main HWY they have both lanes open, they didn’t last Sunday
