A few thoughts amongst the hysteria

We wouldnt be in this mess if the Victorian government managed their quarantine properly, they were down to nearly zero community acquired cases.
It seems clear that pubs and large scale social interaction are a very effective transmission vector, the NSW govt has reduced gathering sizes in response, hopefully this will be enough.
The Victorian Premier's fetish for restricting people even more seems a silly strategy that will further discourage people from doing the right thing. We beat the initial outbreak with the "stage 3 " measures, what does he hope to achieve by shutting hardware stores and all other businesses? are they proven transmission vectors? Probably not. The beatings will continue until morale improves...
NSW seems to be doing OK with 10 new cases linked to the Crossroads Hotel and 3 cases from incoming travellers and most importantly no cases without a clear link to established clusters, not justification to lock us all up just yet

A lot of negative talk, directed at our Premier, political point scoring by the NSW Premier. Now that NSW is staring at more lock downs, all of a sudden things have changed. You can only score points when you are winning the game, and we won our game, only to be let down by those who just couldn't take it seriously. Our border has been opened at the constant request of the Federal Government, in order to get the economy going. We would have been better off keeping it shut , and just let Queenslanders travel and stimulate our economy , you want not a good look, look at Victoria and NSW. We up here know we could be on the cusp of what's happening in Victoria, we don't need reminding . In case you are in denial, here is the latest from Vic. Stage 4 lock down is likely, with more health workers in hospitals testing positive. Good luck.

Apportioning blame and presenting facts can be very separate issues. You can present facts, no worries, we are all witness to your many news ctrl+V posts 'presenting' facts as presented in the media. Apportioning blame occurs when someone assigns blame to another person or party for the events depicted by the facts. Apportioning of blame is what you are claiming you do not do, but do regularly and sometimes in a derogatory language, tone or passive aggressive manner.

Realistically we were going to get a few blow outs, humans are unpredictable, selfish, ignorant.

And it still blows me away there's people that claim it's a hoax.

Apart from working people like yourself Rick, everyone else should stay home. They are the reason you are gridlocked , not the Qld authorities screening them.

It appears the incessant need to travel to Queensland is fuelled by the same incessant need for toilet paper supplies. I can't think of another reason...like a child being told he cant have the lollies at the checkout.

FFS , if you don't NEED to come into Queensland , ****ing don't. CAN IT BE ANY CLEARER?

Last Sunday at 8.30pm,it was an 80 minute wait and that was before they started the extra checks they are doing now.

Hopefully on the main HWY they have both lanes open,they didn’t last Sunday

What a weird place to place a Border, right in the middle of a town.

Chin up & bear with it Rick. This could only last for some years yet. Time to get yourself an Auto Gyro & kit it out with gas drums,tools etc or a Jet Belt & just carry a screwdriver.

I Completely agree with you But as the QLD premier and the tourist operators think differently there is NO way that common sense will prevail sadly.
