Hmmm .... Victorians or just a bunch of backpackers who'd been in Victoria? There is a difference.
And it said that they tried to cross on foot - what, and left their vehicle behind? Are there a lot of abandoned vehicles at the NSW/QLD border? Who was driving?
Are these the same apocryphal backpackers who supposedly tried to cross the border on foot?

This story says they were trying to cross in a minivan, the driver was from Qld and they said they had been in NSW for three weeks, but evidence on their mobiles showed otherwise. More than 850 have been denied entry to Qld since Friday.

I wonder how long it will be before Qld adds Casula in NSW to the list of hotspots? Currently nowhere in NSW is on the list, which includes the whole of Victoria.
