Nor the numbers of workers who traverse from home to work on both sides of the NSW/Vic border at Albury/Wodonga. The hundreds of workers who live a long way into rural areas but work in Wodonga or Albury cannot cross due to a tight "bubble" rule.

This has been updated, but I'm not sure if it helps.

Relatives of ours have half a dozen workers in the ACT,finishing a four week job early next week.
Some drove down and have vehicles there, others flew down.

So how do they go getting back home into Qld?

All isolate for 14 days in a Hotel,at their expense?

If the ambulance goes south beyond the border zone shown on the map, and takes a patient back to a GC hospital, as does happen, will the ambos have to quarantine for 14 days? Didn't seem to know the answer.
Maybe it might be interesting to apply for a border pass after 1am tomorrow, answer the questions truthfully of course, and see what it says.

It is no wonder no one knows what the **** is going on, Changes every day & probably half day & the more they keep changing the plan leaves it wide open for more to claim confusion & bugger off.

    It's a world wide problem.

Daughter flew into Aus last Sunday - Houston, Mex City, Tokyo, Perth. At least that was the plan. At Houston she was able to check her bags all the way through to Perth, no problem.

By the time she had reached Mex City, further travel to Toyko was a no go. The Toyko / Perth leg was cancelled while she was in the air. Not allowed to board for the Mex / Toyko leg because she would have landed at Toyko with no onward flight and no Japanese entry. Can't return to the Houston either because no US return visa.

What to do? Bought a ticket from Mex City / LA then LA / Sydney and hoped she could plead her case at the US border when she landed back in the USA. Immigration officials were not pleased about her returning to the US but with evidence of an onward ticket to Sydney in her hand is issued with a document which allows her to remain in the airport at least enabling her to catch the flight to Sydney.

14 days quarantine in Sydney and then she needs to seek permission to fly to Perth where she will undergo another 14 days quarantine.

Then a signature and stamp on a piece of paper from the USA embassy to extend her US visa and she then turns around again and runs the gauntlet of international flights back to the US.

Crossing the Vic / NSW / Qld border ought to be easy by comparison.

I was asked if I'd like to apply for a job in the Cayman Islands - good money but getting to and from Australia would be problematic at the moment.

It started a day ago in reality - before that it seemed most didn’t give a rats arse about it, but the curfew and current lockdown will need at least a couple of weeks before anyone knows if it has worked or not.

Everyone better hope it does as what’s happening in Vic is likely to be a preview for other parts of the country - NSW, Qld and SA are all reporting clusters now - that’s exactly what happened in melbourne 6 weeks ago.

My fingers are crossed it doesn’t for everyone else but people are dumb no matter what State you’re in.
