    Corona Virus

You do have to admire Mark McGowan - he has achieved what every Sandgroper has dreamt of by splitting WA off from the rest of the country and in doing so showing that the States have the ultimate power.

WA premier Mark McGowan takes swipe at at Sydney’s ‘latte-sipping’ hard border commentators | PerthNow

He has become a true legend back in my home town.

Don't forget there is a small thing called the Nullabor Plain in between that helps.

It wouldn't be all his doing.

I just wish all the Fi-Fos could get back to their families.

The road map to beat coronavirus in Australia. And it doesn't involve opening borders prematurely. Those who advocate that should be careful what you wish for. The Qld CMO has said two COVID free periods [ zero cases ] is the benchmark. She has said that from day one. That's 4 weeks. Zero cases. In NSW, and Vic. to open up completely. Doable in NSW before Xmas, perhaps not in Vic. We know Victorians are doing it tough, and we feel for them. But we also know they can get through this.

'Time to finish the job': Experts' road map to beat COVID-19 in Australia

A policy of dampening coronavirus flare-ups will not only drain the spirit of Australians and have a worsening effect on mental health and domestic violence rates, but also negatively impact the economy.
“What we’re saying, it is risky to have a strategy that allows it to circulate in the community,” lead author Dr Stephen Duckett told The New Daily.
“It’s almost inevitable you’ll have an outbreak in the future and we’ll go back into lockdown. That means community and business uncertainty continues,” Dr Duckett said.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

The FG definition of a hotspot released today is interesting:

Metropolitan - average of 10 cases a day over 3 days
    Regional - 3 a day average over 3 days

So under that all of Vic and I think Sydney would currently be hotspots, but not regional NSW

Qld has refused to accept the definition and others are discussing it.

So, really, the answer is simple. NSW and Vic have to suppress the virus and keep it suppressed. Stop blaming Qld, WA or the other states and territories. Just get the job done!
Its not really open to WA though is it? because their premier won't let those who leave back in.....and Tasmania regards Brisbane as a hotspot requiring 2 weeks quarantine if you've been there.

Watch the Qld borders magically start to reopen after the 31/10. Corona Virus

And WA has an election next March.
It pays to look tough politically.

Border closures are like Law and Order pronouncements before an election.
Play the fear card, gain votes.

28 days?? Never gunna happen! ****ing borders will be closed forever! This crap is with us and it is not going away, there will be asymtomatics wandering freely. Vaccine I hear you say... that is highly debatable as well, science tells as that vaccines for coronavirus are basically impossible to manufacture. Palaceofshame thinks she has this covered, nope. And Dr Badhairday is just doing what she is told, I don't believe anything she comes out with anymore.

I suspect in Victoria people are starting to not want to be tested.

From Qld's viewpoint it is open to everywhere except NSW, Vic and the ACT. What the others do is up to them. Qld not responsible.
