My wife's family came from Tipperary, but the family line originated in Munster. One ancestor drowned in a boating accident at Corop, in 1870. William McCormack.[ blacksmith] born Thules Tipperary, buried next to him is his wife, Julia [ nee Kelly]born Kilmacow [ love that name. ]. Kilkenny. The family put in to have headstones placed and the graves fixed up in 2007. We'll visit Corop one day.

My wife's father was Postmaster at Manly in Sydney, one of nature's gentlemen. Her eldest brother was a bank manager , ended up the ombudsman for the Commonwealth Bank in NSW. Another wonderful man, in the throes of dementia ATM, I used to stir them up about being related to Ned Kelly, thru marriage. [ the old bank manager didn't like that much at all, no idea if Julia was related to Ned , but too good to pass up.] I felt privileged to know the family, wonderful caring people, mostly all gone now. We just have the MT Isa connection, and Balgowlah in Sydney. And an In law in Adelaide, no one talks about him, he ran off with a younger woman. Nothing to do with COVID, this, of course. But hey, much better to talk about.

If we really were forced to make a choice wouldn't we all, a bit like a car really, why take on a clapped out rusted out model with crap suspension, leaks, with a buggered roof & computer?

Geez, thats a long way to go. Of course the reply usually is "Why tip it?"

Bugger C-19 or 'rona, as it was reported somewhere that we Aussies call it in our habit of shortening names for most things Bo. I'll be glad when all the talking & fiddling around has been all done.
The way it has been going though, it can pop up in so many different places but seems it is down to lazy inconsiderates around us. We see people still enter premises that have a large bottle of Hand Cleanser in front of them & still it doesn't ring a bell with them.

I don't agree, 4bee. I think you're underestimating or, perhaps overestimating, the psyche of the masses in the good ol' US of A. Especially the differences from State to State.

I mean, really, look at the bickering, quibbling and carry-on that Covid caused here in Oz with only our handful of Governments.

Imagine if we were divided into 50 States with 50 Premiers/Ministers. The mind boggles!

Under or over estimating? Probably both.
Really Steve, I'm trying not to care anymore about the good ole US of A, I've had it up to here >(Pointing to his left lughole) It is a massive problem they have got, & **** all we can do about it. No, I don't understand their psyche & not wanting to now. I shan't be travelling there. I'll just be glad when that halfwit has gone & even more pleased if he & his "Team" are locked up when he leaves, I read today where they are looking at all sorts of misdemeanors that he can be done with. He is even talking about Pardoning himself FFS! What crazy thought that one up?

His own worst enemy he is & I won't be losing any sack time over it.

Hopefully things may stabalise in the world, until a next time.

When the IRISH Club in Brisbane was open, they had classes to teach members how to play Irish musical instruments, and even hosted concerts from bands formed by members, up in the Tara Room. Small affairs, it was a promotion of Irish music, not really meant to find or promote rising stars. Any one who has been upstairs to the Tara Room will remember it's beautiful wood panelled bar and concert area, the concert area could be partitioned for use by individual groups [ such as the music students] , or opened right up for St. Patrick's Day. The downstairs kitchen and dining room, with the bar and pool tables , was a popular place for pensioners , for the pensioner meal deal. All that went when the club was closed down, officially because of mis- management, but rumour has it that some wealthy business consortium wanted the prime CBD spot. Now, any one who knows the Irish know that they love a good story, so I can't confirm those rumours. But hey, its a good story.

    {I've since discovered the QIA [ Qld Irish Association] is alive and well, must find out if they still teach the art of the craic}

A snap shot from around the World.

    • Australia has abandoned a vaccine — one of dozens being tested worldwide — after the inoculation produced some false positive test results for H.I.V.
    • In the latest feline news, snow leopards can contract the coronavirus. Scientists have documented infections in house cats, tigers and lions, as well as dogs and mink.
    • Women could suffer losses to retirement accounts as they disproportionately leave the work force during the pandemic.
    • The Senate approved a stopgap bill to fund the government on Friday, delaying a potential shutdown. Negotiators now have one more week to reach an agreement on a spending package and a coronavirus aid plan.
    • A 32-year-old close to Dr. Fauci — the brother of his daughter’s boyfriend — has died of Covid-19. “He’s a perfectly healthy 32-year-old guy who got Covid, got the cardiac complications and died within like a week.”
    • Vaccine makers in Britain and Russia will combine their vaccines, hoping to strengthen the efficacy of both.
    • More than 6,600 college athletes, coaches and staff members have tested positive for the coronavirus this year, according to a New York Times analysis. But that’s far from the total picture. Many colleges are reluctant to release data, especially about college football, which is often their most lucrative program.

I have not seen a subject so full of deliberate misguidance and outright lies as this.... "Prophylaxis & Treatment of 'SARS-2" Or, the polar opposite end of Vaccination Debate.

(- Apart from Ni-Tojo owners declaring Land Rovers are rubbish, useless, 110% unreliable and impossible to fix and least capable off-road. Or on....)

So, found this on POTUS's favourite literature site, - shrt werds and shrtr ideas by shrtr mnds... and being a genuine Luddite, have no idea how to transfer interesting links to here, so this will do. Two parts, so grab a cuppa and relax...

Here's the link:- easy to follow background to lots of things . Yes, hydroxychloroquine is scientifically proven against COVID-19 - Filipe’s Newsletter

Enjoy following down the side-alleys, where the most fun is to be found !

Easter Egg:- You may wonder about mentioned procedures / therapies used today which have NO "proof" trials done. ELECTIVE or Prophylaxic 'stenting is one of them... ORBITA, November 2016

On Wednesday, COVID-19 infections were also found among a woman in her 60s and a man in his 70s who are close contacts of each other.

Yesterday's two cases on Sydney's Northern Beaches came just hours after a van driver who transports international airline staff to Sydney Airport tested positive for the virus,

NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said he was concerned about the increasing cases in the area and urged locals to seek testing.

"I would say to everybody on the Northern Beaches: it is sufficient to say four cases of apparent community transmission at this point would strongly suggest to any of the residents of the Northern Beaches that you should go and get tested if you have symptoms of cold or flu-like illness," he said.
