I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Yeah, can still be controlled from here and I really hope it is - don’t want anyone else to go through a lockdown like we had in Melbourne - NSW have shown they can jump in this quickly - this will be their biggest test and I hope they pass with flying colours. Still too early to know.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Same, I think we're all hoping. It'll be interesting to see what happens over Christmas and New Years, the most sociable time of the year.

The final decision to join the Federation was the result of a referendum not instructions or orders from any where else . Would however suggest that as the number's of the population favored the Goldfields , a yes vote would have been eminent . Wonder what it would be like now if a no vote had won the referendum .

OK, read "London told WA to join the Federation or lose the goldfields" as:

    "
At this point the British Colonial Secretary, Joseph Chamberlain, intervened to pressure Western Australia into joining the Federation. On 27 April 1900, Chamberlain sent the acting Governor of Western Australia a telegram alluding to the secessionist movement in the goldfields and advising the Governor that in these circumstances it would be in the best interests of the colony to join the Federation"

Joining the Federation obviously implied campaigning for the referendum to join the other States.

So, I think that we're in furious agreement.

A bit like Scomo telling the State Premiers on what they do with the Borders , it is ultimately up to each State Premier as to what happens with their borders & not pressure from the ACT or Scomo . Sure there were demonstrations and rally's and all sorts of co-ertion from the East and a greater portion of people in the Goldfields And Albany ( " you forgot about Albany " ) and England but in the end it was John Forrest's decision to hold a Referendum into the matter which resulted in the Swan River Colony ( which was granted a Constitution & Self Governance by the British Parliament in 1890 ) joining the Federation in 1901 .

I have grown weary of the subject you read it however you want .

I have a long memory. It's ok to slag off at QLD when the border was shut, and go on ,and on ,and on, but leave poor old NSW alone. OK I will. The last word from me is this. The wags up here are not calling NSW , NSW any more . It's Disneyland now. Doesn't take long, does it.
