Second part - extremely good guess based on decades vaccine works and experience.

I will of course take back all of this if we turn into zombies... 😇

I do take your Point Gav, but do we/they really really really know?

Yes Zombie would be good & instead of English being the most widespread language, Zombie will have to be the trusted alternative.

For the zombies out there. Some recent research released from the UK on how people fair after being admitted and subsequently discharged from hospital after surviving covid.

While it's now recognised covid is not just a simple respiratory disease I don't think anybody has quantified it's long term effects. This study tracked ~50,000 people discharged from UK hospital alive after covid. About ~30% are re-admitted within 5-6 months of discharge with life threatening conditions associated with respiratory, cardiovascular, metabolic, renal, and hepatic complications. Of those re-admitted, ~10% die.

I'll be lining up for the vaccine when it's offered.

Epidemiology of post-COVID syndrome following hospitalisation with coronavirus: a retrospective cohort study

Conclusions Individuals discharged from hospital following COVID-19 face elevated rates of multi-organ dysfunction compared with background levels, and the increase in risk is neither confined to the elderly nor uniform across ethnicities...

    A word from the BioNTtech CEO, on the vaccine.;

In an exclusive interview with DW's Konrad Busen, BioNTech CEO Ugur Sahin explains how the firm will respond to a new virus variant and why he hasn't been vaccinated.

You have not been vaccinated yet. Why not?
We are legally not allowed to take the vaccine. Of course, we consider. It is more important for us that our co-workers and partners get vaccinated, so our aim is to produce more that 1.3 billion doses in 2021. And this can only be done if we can continue to work 24/7 without interruption. And we have to make sure that we can protect our co-workers and our team members from COVID-19 infections, because that would mean interruptions and delays in producing vaccine doses. Therefore, we are planning to produce a separate batch from the EU contingent to supply our cooperation partners and team members.

Why are you legally not allowed to take the vaccine?

You know, there is a priority list. It is not allowed to take the vaccine outside that priority list. What is also important: we were even not allowed to participate in clinical trials, because by law it is not possible to include people from the company in such trials, which is fine. But now we face the challenge of making sure that our company is able to function, and I believe we will find a legal and fair solution for that.

An article about damage to multiple organs in " long covid " cases.

Preliminary data from the first 200 patients to undergo screening suggests that almost 70% have impairments in one or more organs, including the heart, lungs, liver and pancreas, four months after their initial illness.
“The good news is that the impairment is mild, but even with a conservative lens, there is some impairment, and in 25% of people it affects two or more organs,” said Amitava Banerjee, a cardiologist and associate professor of clinical data science at University College London.
“This is of interest because we need to know if [the impairments] continue or improve – or if there is a subgroup of people who could get worse.”

Reports of people coming out of 14 day quarantine & being active within a couple of days are concerning.

I still believe the 40 day quarantine period of the olde days has a lot of merit.

Maybe OZ's quarantine program has to be looked at more closely albeit it could be a bit harder.

    But wtf do I know?

But one thing is certain, it has to be jumped on a lot harder than at present & **** the Tennis crap & other sporting rubbish. They are not concerning them selves about the **** they leave behind them, only their bank balance.

Hotel quarantine is our achilles heel. I don't profess to have the answer, but North Korea might have.

" Quarantine rules in North Korea are also strict, according to reports. When an outbreak occurred in China, North Korea tracked down all Chinese visitors in the town of Rason and quarantined them on an island for a month."

Or perhaps not. EDIT. Although Peel Island is still available. Good enough for lepers , good enough for the Covid unclean.

Nor me either bob but some high powered brains should be able to see & act upon it.

Do you wish to be PM this week or should we take it in turns, week & week about?

Shall we select a Cabinet? I bags Tombie, Ian, Saitch and Rambling boy. A good balance of strength and reason, for a start.

Possibly, but I think Ian & Stephney would both baggsy the Drinks Cabinet, after which sensible decision making would fly out the door.

Mike & Rb I'm not sure about but maybe they could keep a sensible focus on business, so not a bad thing.
