I don't understand this. You can't get a prescription medicine without a prescription from a GP. I don't know any GP who would give that out without a good reason. Panic buying of prescription medicines is an oxy- moron, I reckon. edit. the longer this goes on, the sillier people seem to get.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Funny you should mention this, but we are travelling with the 88 year old FIL, who is all stocked up with meds for two months for his trip, all on prescription from his doctor back home.

Doctors can write 'scripts with repeats for up to six months. Nothing stopping people filling six months of prescriptions at a time.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

True. Forgot about that. but the onus is on the chemist, to question that. And ring the GP , if they think it necessary. Try it yourself next time. I'll be surprised if you don't have to explain yourself. The medicines mentioned in the media have been Panadol and children's asthma medicine. I don't know if you need a script for both . What have we had so far. Chinese warships smuggling baby formula, Chinese gangs stripping country supermarkets, can't wait for the next conspiracy theory. I wish this would hurry up and end, normally rational people are becoming more irrational by the moment.

I went to Woolies to stock up for four days camping, earlier today. Nil stock for Spam, canned salmon and yogurt. Crazy times brings out all the lunies.

Perhaps we need more 'Chinese Checkers'?

My Son who is a Manager at Woolies says the warehouses are starting to get on tip of the rush as they are traditionally stocked to a lower level at this time of year, but they are bringing stock back to Christmas levels to cope which they are almost at.

Hopefully everyone's spare rooms are getting full of dunny roll so I can go and buy a 4 pack or so as I will need that in the newt couple of weeks.

Bizarrely, half the things being hoarded are perishables - why are people bulk-buying fresh milk and leaving the UHT stuff on the shelves?

Home delivery should be a boom business when people have to stay home.
In the USA Amazon is hiring more packing and delivery staff to meet increased demand.
I think the govt's should also use hotels, motels, etc as clinics and even isolation rooms like I Germany is doing IIRC. Obviously this should be on a paid arrangement not commandeered, might even make some of the globe trotting occupants pay for being silly, as I think China is doing, the accommodation industry could certainly use the business.
