    Hi John,

I'm in Wangaratta, or near enough.

Is there anthing I can do to help?

Helen Haynes is a fantastic MP, with rural heath background, I can visit her office for you if that would help.

When did her passport expire, I'm sure even expired passports are valid ID for some time, how about her expired drivers licence, does she sill have it, surely that and the passport would be enough.

    Tony

The phase 1B vaccines arrived in Oz yesterday. Nice health minister announced they are out 8 of March or before????? Last week I was told we are a Phase 1B site and would have more information in the next 24 hours. Talk about tight time frames. Yet to see the information I was promised.

Yep, it is called the "Very Public Wall of Social Media Fury" and has the 'virtual' appearance of the old school pitch fork mob. The newly infected group had visited a previously isolating family but this has only just been admitted. Yet another breach of the rules by this group. It is going to be a pile on of public ridicule on top of shame for this group.

I'd be really interested to know if they are still defiant (ie. What their underlying motivations are) or are starting to understand the gravity of the situation.

Edit: with this kind of thing the first step is to ascertain if what's being claimed is even the case at all - if not, all good, if so - move on to resolving the issue. Going off half-cocked or on a wild goose chase is a complete waste of effort.
Because that is what she told me. I should point out that she has family living near her who are helping, just that she was complaining about it to me. Part of the problem is probably that she feels she is putting too much of a workload on her daughter in particular, who lives less than 20km away, and feels that she should be dealing with this sort of issue herself rather than being a burden on her family.

A possible language barrier was raised as a potential issue. I find it hard to believe that our contact tracing system doesn't cater to language barriers and that the young people involved do not understand English sufficiently enough to understand the situation. The latest one was 21yo who attended tertiary level studies three days last week.

Another possible issue was fear of being found out to have broken regulations related to the Feb 14-16 Level 3 lock down. The families visited each other in Level 3 and this breached the rules. They may have feared the consequences. If this is the case, hindsight will give them a kicking (alongside the social media one).

I think there will be no escape from the gravity of it all. What is heavier, a tonne of bricks or being discussed online and by the govt and the media.

The media is reporting PM to be saying "more cases are more than likely". I would be surprised if this one-week lock down doesn't get raised a level and extended as they are predicting issues from it being the UK variant. The govt is defending the move out of the last lock down Feb 14-16 after only three days. I think they'll be a bit more cautious this time around.

One of the "old school" then? It must be of great worrying concern being in her predicament.

Teenage daughter got a spam text inviting her to respond to a request to receive a covid jab on the weekend. They had even gone as far as to impersonate the mobile number that doctors surgeries use to confirm appointments. I can only assume that if she replied they would have tried to get her to pay for a non existent jab.

Read about B an T cells and other reasons why some countries are (mainy in the West) are ravaged by Covid and poorer ones appear not to be as affected overall allowing for all factors

Quote" Both B cells and T cells have an unusual capacity: after generating an immune response, some of them may become long-lived passengers in our blood, and carry the “memory” of an already encountered pathogen. These so-called memory cells are triggered when the pathogen reappears, and they can swiftly raise forces to fight it.

Long article but might interest some people in the wider picture and doesnt mention hydroxychloroquine or bleach...
