The chance of getting blood clots using AZ is reported to be 4 to 6 cases / million. By comparison, the risk of blood clots with the oral contraceptive pill is reported to be 4 in every 10,000. What does that mean? Don't know , really. Use french letters, and get pfiser? This whole thing does my head in. here is AZ explained, from AAP;

I think it comes down to people being unrealistic and not knowing (or believing) that everything in life has an associated risk. All vaccines & medicines have a small risk but most would happily take the AZ blot clotting odds with almost anything else in their lives, but there's so much about this it amazes me. I'll happily line up for an AZ job (if it is every available) and take that tiny risk. We've all had plenty of other vaccines and our parents took that risk on our behalves when we were younger and we take that risk ourselves today when getting anything - like the Flu jab which most will be fine with but carries side effects and risks for some - but the vast majority are fine.
No idea why this is such a big deal. And I don't accept the 'This vaccine has been rushed' BS as it's had more man hours put into it than pretty much any other vaccine in history - it was produced quickly due to the amount of money thrown at the research.
If someone says they don't want to risk taking the AZ vaccine - ask them if they are happy to take the risk driving to the supermarket to get some milk - that is much more likely to injure or kill them.
Fully agree which is why the discrepancies in optional health impacts like birth control and long overseas flights was a large contradiction in my small mind. Only a few withdrew from today's vaccinations and a dozen or so removed from next few weeks due to being under 50. As the exact number of 10 per bottle of the stuff is needed to avoid wastage, 200 odd phone calls to get happy replacements in did take several hours. Almost got it at 11am until the Doc kindly pointed out they had flu vax in the last few days sending me back to the phone lines[bigwhistle]Quote:

The Best Vaccine is the first one you can get I think. My lucky status held up with my first does last Thursday.
Their is no delivery date for the extra pfiser set in stone. The ' last quarter' is the time line stated, September to December. That's when the vaccine gets here. The PM could not answer the question posed 'will all Australians have their first dose by the end of the year. ' Nothing has changed up here. Not all aged care , or aged care workers, have had their first dose. NZ has a case which came from India, where there are two new variants that may not be detected by our immune systems. There is not a vaccine yet developed that would protect against that. And no one vaccinated now would have any protection against that. We are talking of a NZ/ Aus. bubble. Early in the piece I had great faith in the Minister of Health but recently I have started to feel a bit disappointed as now Greg just appears to be doing what he is told.
Times like this we deserve the honest truth, what ever that may be good, bad or indifferent 'cos their sins will find them out one day.
I realise it is a bit hard as we have never been here before but the truth remains the truth. At least all should be on the same Tram, or page from the Hymn Book.,
