Meanwhile, a media outlet has reported coronavirus cases have " soared " to....... 227 in Australia. WTF ?
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

An interesting article detailing the difference in the UKs response to coronavirus to Europe. I suspect that there is a valid point that people will get crisis fatigue from draconian social distancing measures just when they are most needed.
Italy is no outlier, it'''s a frontrunner. These nations are set to follow

It's a gamble. But it might pay off. The stakes are high, Boris just might be a man for a crisis. I still say the key is good communication between government and the people. And consistency in the message, with the key people setting an example. Hasn't happened here yet, unfortunately.

Its too bright for Boris but he may just be clever and sensible enough for once to follow experts unlike some world leaders...
Here is a summary of possible ramifications, its a long time since I studied epidemics but if herd behaviour worked to create immunity we wouldnt have had less problems with other viruses and other diseases in past history like smallpox, polio etc and the elephant in the room is poseible ongoing viral mutation slowing development of population immunity

Wonder if ANZAC Day will be cancelled. The average age of RSL members is 80, I read, so they are particularly vulnerable.

Even so, this would include the 27 who are reported to have recovered. As of 0630 today, there were 197 reported cases on the Government website which included the aforementioned 27.

Anzac Day will be commemorated. It may be two veterans at the Cenotaph paying respect, or a crowd, either way the fallen will be remembered. With or without the RSL.
