Completely off topic but... do they honestly call incarcerated criminals "tenants" ?

No, but i didn’t want to write what they should be called

Crims is the general word, and YP(young people), youth centres.

Although some of the officers call them boomerangs, because the majority of them keep coming back.

Tenants is what they are called as well,at times.

We were involved in the building of a new facility last decade (or still this decade depending on the 0/1 argument) and the directive came down that we were to refer to them as "residents" in all meetings and correspondence.

    No longer inmates?

Gaols are no longer that, nor are they penitentiaries. Now they are Correctional Centres. We all know they are really training centres to learn new law-breaking skills.

We tried again, and after 4 hours, the call dropped out again, this time going to a recorded message asking how satisfied were we with how our problem was handled, Press 1-5, etc. You can guess our scores.

By this time it was 11.30pm. So I told my wife I'd try again while she slept. That call dropped out at 5am after 5-1/2 hours. I was not amused.

Qantas probably had thousands of calls so I do understand the problem.

In the end, we received SMS messages from Qantas telling us of the refund website. We went there but no refunds, only a voucher for future travel. I wonder if they needed to build that web page overnight.

The three Novatel hotels (all Accor) we'd booked all refunded our money but the Sebel Quay West Auckland hotel (also an Accor hotel) in Auckland won't refund. Suck it up, baby.

We haven't heard from the car hire company yet. Our travel insurance was just outside the 14 day cooling off period so I guess that's lost. The Pay As You Go recharges we put on our phones to cover phone calls in NZ are wasted as are the NZ dollars we bought.

I don't find anything he says to generally be offensive, in fact I would be more guilty of offending others if we must point a finger. Also what people think about others comments again is their right to make, but I do find it out of line to dictate to others what should and should not be said regardless of the circumstances we live in.

There are and have been far worse going on around the world than Covid-19. I don't see people saying too much about third world hunger, starvation, human trafficking and other human horrific tragedies.

Yes I also realise there are common rules to follow on AULRO, but I dont see Eevo breaking any of them?
OK, just thought I'd ask. Should have known better.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I hope you're not too much out of pocket, Ron.
We're in the same boat with our Russia/Nordic trip. I'm looking at it this way: If we do go, all good. If we don't go, I'll take it on the chin and take into consideration that I'll save a lot of money with no overseas dining, taxi fares, tipping, shopping, etc.

No point in panicking or stressing.

    - Because we got a good deal on a pallet of sanitiser and it seemed like a good idea at the time
    - Because someone told us we need to do it

There is no right answer because every bottle/location is completely different. Face it people (as a whole) are stupid. There's a reason we have a population problem on the planet. Procreation favours the stupid. We have a suburb south of Perth that is a perfect example, where the girls have a higher sperm count than the boys. No amount of hand sanitizer is going to solve that problem.

Why can I hear Sir Humphrey Applebee saying that?
