That was the advice of Oppo Support for maximising battery life.

I'm not sure that any of that is possible with the data the app collects and the restrictions on who can access it.

According to COVIDSafe app | Australian Government Department of Health

COVIDSafe recognises other devices with the COVIDSafe app installed and Bluetooth enabled. When the app recognises another user, it notes the date, time, distance and duration of the contact and the other user’s reference code. The COVIDSafe app does not collect your location.
When someone is diagnosed with COVID-19, state and territory health officials will ask them or their parent/guardian who they have been in contact with. If they have the COVIDSafe app and provide their permission, the encrypted contact information from the app will be uploaded to a highly secure information storage system
    (My emphasis)

So if you have been playing away from home, don't give permission for the data to be uploaded. Problem solved.

Was pointing out the different aspects of “personal security and privacy”

Worried about one app, not worried about others.
Concerned for personal security in one aspect, yet not others (garage unlocked etc).

People choose to perceive threats to their personal identity and security in many ways. I was bemused that the ability to contact an individual should they have been exposed to Covid-19 is trumped by an app that knows when you have been in proximity to another device.

Regardless of what is tried, the government of any nation is damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

    You have a good day.

And also wouldn’t be ground for access to CovidApp codes.

Even more so, the App looks for interactions not locations. So who would know that 37595XD126Y27 (made up) is actually Kelly from Accounts Corona Virus

The user identities only reside on the phone. Only once asked is the detail uploaded, by choice, by hitting the submit information button.

Or... hope that the wife/girlfriend is not the operator on duty that gets tasked to follow the data if you or any 'contacts' get tested +ve...
