I'm not sure if anybody else watched Dateline on SBS on how CV has affected Peru. The Dr in the town hasn't had a case come in yet, and they are trying to keep it out. They have no mechanical respirator, only Oxygen, surgery and eucalyptus leaves.

I'm hoping nobody needs oxygen there, because I'm not sure if they realise their bottle of oxygen is actually a bottle of Argoshield.
    Cheers

    At least he's trying....

Latest on the News fillers... A certain bankrupt (?) Queensland millionaire has purchased squillions of doses of Trump's favourite medication for COVID-19.

Recent trials have produced mixed results, but none of them included adding zinc to the mix. HCQ has some anti-viral effects and is a potent Zn 'ionophore' - it drags zinc INTO the cells, where it's (Zn) hostility to viral replication is beneficial.

But, it comes with some deadly side-effects for cardiac patients (like me) and needs careful dosing even for the 'healthy'.

Anyway, a fine gesture, though there's a safer and less expensive alternative out there. A couple, actually.
Me? - I just drink lots more green tea and eat some oysters.

On the other hand, some of those incredibly $$$ purpose-made 'anti virals' have not produced the goods. Yet...

    (My emphasis)

So if you have been playing away from home, don't give permission for the data to be uploaded. Problem solved.
    And ....

    - you can delete all the app data on your phone whenever you want to
    - you have to upload it to the government, they can't just take it and it can only be used for COVID tracing
    - it's not a tracking app, just a contact app - so it doesn't know where you've been, just who you've been near for more than 15 minutes that also has the app on their phone - so if you're worried about who you're contacting with, switch your phone off or they switch theirs off

It's anonymised, so wouldn't matter anyway.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

The New York Times coronavirus briefing.

Coronavirus Briefing: A Vaccine by Fall?

6 more symptoms to look for. [ the only sure way to find out is to have a test.]

Six more symptoms to watch for
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began by listing just three symptoms for Covid-19: fever, cough and shortness of breath. But we now know that the disease can hit one patient very differently from another. So the C.D.C. has officially added six more:
    • Chills
    • Repeated shaking with chills
    • Muscle pain
    • Headache
    • Sore throat
    • Loss of taste or smell
Not everyone who is infected will have them all, and some people won’t have any. The only sure way to know if you have the virus is to get tested.

Slowly back to normal. At 5.45 the second day in a row, a FIFO aircraft flew overhead, heading north carrying the men and women to work in the mines. Since then, at least 3 more have winged out. Good. Let's get this economy up and running.
