Constitutional or not the hard closures on the State borders ARE preventing the spread of this Virus and IS saving lives.
The snivel libertarians and academics that are arguing about this and are trying to impose their will on the other States need to take a good hard look at themselves then they will realise just how short sighted and selfish they are about this situation.

As I said yesterday, it's not about health, it's state Premiers trying to look good prior to a looming election, nothing more.

The medical people advising the Federal Govt continue to say there is no medical reason to keep borders closed, so look to the reason why two state Premiers are getting so bolshie about reopening borders?
Pure politics.

In Qld it is also the state CMO that is advocating the border closures. I think it is a similar deal the all these CMOs and their deputies (state and federal), I thinks that they are doing two things. 1) giving advice to their respective leaders (handlers), and 2) toeing the party line or getting told what advice to give.

Don't tell me these Dr's are independant of the government they serve, they value their position and financial incentives too greatly.

Personally I don't think that there is any political advantage by closing the borders and even IF there is it is a bloody great move because the States with the closed borders are faring Much better with this pandemic than NSW and VIC with their open borders.
Personally I think that the borders should stay closed until the other States get theit infection and death rates down to Zero.

I second that suggestion. Let us get this thing over & done with once & for all, otherwise we will trying to fight it for years to come. Back & forth etc.

Closed borders have proven that it can really help but that is common sense & politicians aren't really renowned for that. Being a South Australian I was starting to build some respect for Gladys but of late with these silly disagreements I'm not so sure any more & as for Anastasia, well, I never did like her.

I don't have any love for any particulr politician, For me they are a necessary evil

Who said border closures don't work - Clive Palmer has just been denied entry to WA. Qld can keep him.

Anyway, looks like there will be a court challenge about the whole business now.
