Qld residents, who automatically qualify for a Qld Entry Permit, don't have to quarantine unless they have been somewhere which has been declared a hotspot by the Qld chief medical officer, Dr Jeanette Young.
Last time I checked there were no current declared hotspots, so Qld residents could go anywhere they were allowed entry and not have to quarantine after returning to Qld.
Now, if they visit Melbourne and adjacent LG areas, they will have to quarantine on returning to Qld.
But, up to 10,000 people or 25% of stadium capacity can now go to the footy. I guess the failure of the BLM protests to generate any new cases has shown it can be done safely.

I reckon this "Eastern Seaboard Farce" has gone on long enough & believe that those "in charge" need to get bloody serious instead of worrying about their own Egos & how they look to the rest of the country/world.
This isn't about playing a game, people's lives/health & jobs should be paramount, not this stupid procrastination.

How they look, is ****ing ridiculous, is how.

I suppose that is why they try to be Politicians, but most will never make that grade anyway.

Oh yes Mr bee, don't forget their perks & fat salaries.

Should have been all put under the same Umbrella & set of rules from the outset. Blind Freddy can see that.

The situation is different in each state and territory, and even between capital cities and regions, so one size of rules does not fit every situation.
For example, I'm told it's been over 70 days since Lismore has had a Covid-19 case, so why should it be under the same rules as Melbourne, which has had 116 cases in the last week?

So you agree the current state border situation is a farce and purely political? Corona VirusCorona VirusCorona VirusCorona Virus

Good on him for wanting to visit family but if he's not an Australian citizen what is the reason for his return? Surely not a sporting contract FFS!
If so, not a legitimate reason.
Is there a black, white and grey area here?
Good point Steve, but as we know, the major sports in this country act as if they are above the normal rules that apply to us mere plebs.

    That's tough, but why not??

We all live in this country & roads connect everywhere. I believe most people have tried to knuckle down to put an end to this misery especially SA. Also except the selfish bastards who want life to be curtailed for every one else except them.

History will record the shortcomings of this Pandemic & hopefully name names.

How would this be for an Epitaph on one's grave stone?

On a global scale they are certainly not ridiculous, but listening to advice and opening things up when it is reasonably safe.

It is very refreshing to see that restrictions will be re-imposed when the 'comfort level' is exceeded.

The great unwashed in Vic think it's all over.............. no social distancing anywhere, maybe this will be a shake up well deserved.

There is no way any of the demo's should have gone ahead and the organisers have been fined accordingly.

The fines for 'incitement' to attend a 'function' with likely breakdown of distancing rules are too low IME. Should include jail terms.

Andrews repeatedly said don't do it.

If you want to really see ridiculous have a look across the pacific with 60,000 new cases in the last 2 days and more people dying every day in the well managed states than the whole of Aus has copped the whole time.

I can't wait to get back to the stuff I did in SA......... the state of excitement (or in need of it, can't remember):

Go and stay for awhile at a homestay in Bordertown,

    get mooned in Keith,

go and have a really good look at Maslins beach,

visit the motorcycle museum that has every make Barossa,

do a bit of banking in Snowtown,

maybe study some theology in Whyalla,

and wind it up by getting cactus in Cactus, west of Ceduna.

    cheers, DL

FMD. We flew over from WA on Wednesday. We went for a drive yesterday to have a poke around and it would appear the only Victorians doing _any_ form of distancing are the ones being physically forced to.

We've had to do 3 click-and-collect shops, and aside from the areas where the security guards are vocally enforcing distancing it's like nothing ever happened. Hand sanitiser bottles remain unused, those wearing masks are actively scoffed at.

I thought the numbnuts in WA were bad, but what I saw at home is nothing compared to the behaviour here.

I will say one thing. The drivers in central Melbourne are very forgiving of a WA driver with NFI of how it works over here. Indicate and move with some authority and people just open up the gap. In Perth you'd wear another motorist the instant you turned on the orange flashy thing.

Here they know what it is and what it means, even if they don't use them themselves.
