Some of the Al Tarqua (spelling) live in the nine tower blocks, so I guess the virus was circulating and being brought home from school.

The Vic Govt had a contract with Serco, who sub-let it to other companies, and supervision fell down. Other states also use security companies. The Federal Government uses Serco in immigration detention centres.
Breakdowns in infection control could have happened anywhere.
Plus, security guards are mostly casuals who don't get sick pay, so it's not surprising they might ignore a sniffle and go to work to get paid.

Finger-pointing doesn't achieve anything. If we're going to condemn the Victorian Premier for the Melbourne outbreak, then we also have to condemn the NSW Premier for the Ruby Princess and the Sydney outbreak. Its either both or neither.
Personally, I think it's neither. Its an unprecedented situation and they're all doing their best.

Looks like truck drivers are in the clear for the Crossroads Hotel outbreak at Casula. ABC is reporting health authorities believe a Melbourne man who works for a freight company, but is not a driver, travelled to Sydney on June 30, is believed to have infected several people, and went to a work function at the Crossroads on July 3.

Yes, not finger pointing is good but there has been plenty in this thread regarding the Ruby princess, a quick look around post 2098 reveals this:
" The health Minister should stand aside until the investigation is complete, and judgement made. He is responsible for the operation of the health Dept., and saying as he did at the start of this that he was not aware of what happened on board asks so many questions. I don't think that any one should have to face criminal charges over this, but incompetence shouldn't be rewarded. If someone low in the pecking order made the decision, without checking with their superiors, that's the sign of a dysfunctional system. And who is in charge of the System? "

Given the glee with which the NSW govt were attacked I reckon the Victorian premier should take some responsibility as well.

Yep that is good news indeed, it shows that the arrangements for truck drivers to rest and eat must be working well from a social distancing perspective as well. It seems the real lesson may be how the recommencement of social activity in pubs may be the weak point in the NSW outbreak at least.

I see ACT police are reminding people who are in quarantine to please wear clothes when officers come to the door to check if they are at home.

Yes, just let them get on with it, each situation is different. It's not the Premiers having parties, not social distancing , etc, etc,. Just heard, the AFL is coming to QLD. That will attract the Victorians like moths to a flame. If they are all honest, and do the right thing, they are very welcome. locals will offer their usual renowned hospitality.
