    And we did take the lockdowns seriously, which is why Victoria had so few cases until the quarantine breaches occurred.
    As you say these things are "Permitted" But are they the wise thing to do given the situation at the moment?
    Common Sense dictates that these "Frivolous" activities are NOT helping the situation and are in fact adding to the problem masks or no masks.
    The very Best way to socially distance is to stay at home and wandering around the streets for any reason IS creating a risk, End of story.

    The only real essential reasons for leaving home should be ,

    * Buying household needs & supplies.
    * Medical and medication needs
    * Attending work .

    In reality all else cane done at home .
    I have family living in Melbourne and their biggest problem is the lack of social distancing when trying to do the essential stuff so have there food etc delivered now , and they gave up walking to exercise as it was being used as an excuse to socialise by a lot of people .

    Lets hope that a vaccine is not to far away to help eradicate this bloody virus , stay safe all and " STAY AT HOME " If Req .

    Which is why they should close a loophole in the law, and make it illegal to remove a mask to consume take-away coffee.

    Leaving work yesterday I saw two people sitting masks down covering their throats breathing smoke No rule saying you can do that More than sure the police are reasonable for a smoke or cuppa if a little removed from everyone else. Love to see the book be thrown at Smokers in the thick of crowds Not at all stressed at those pay huge voluntary taxes for us all unless they are breathing it in my face or the kids faces

    I am putting my tin foil haters hat on after this post

    Ah yes, but is there anything unlawful about poking a Pencil diameter hole in one's mask to fit the gasper or drinking straw through?

    It's not buying takeaway coffee or walking dogs that's the issue or causing transmission - like in Singapore and Sweden, it's the crowded living conditions of migrant communities with insecure or casual employment, deliberate or accidental breaches of quarantine by returnees and a failure to keep it out of nursing homes, apparently caused by cost-cutting.

    Not just cost cutting, but insecure employment with people having to work at a few different nursing homes to make ends meet, so I think the govt should say they can only work at one each and then pay them for whatever they would've worked at the other places, and pro'ly have to provide staff/money to cover the other places left without staff.
