And my age too. Understand perfectly. My (work) income has more than halved.

Even less happy than you, as this 'plague' has opened doors to opportunistic "infections" by agendered Bad Actors ranging from dangerous nations/political parties, to international vilains to obscenely wealthy technocrats pushing their own religion.

My Super was only just starting to stabilise from the GFC, only to be knocked down with this... another 'engineered' economic crisis.

I’m not Geraldton bashing at all, just pointing out that outback WA is hardly in the same situation as some other parts of the globe. A nice safe little spot to be pontificating from though.
And for the record, no cases in my town either, as far as I know.

To reiterate, it wasn't the average Melburnian that caused this outbreak - it was the government, who were warned about what might happen with the quarantine hotels. The government's incompetence has been compounded by the incompetence of the DHSS - contract tracing here appears to have ceased.
Besides every one else being at fault here i wonder what part the people who where in Quarantine had in keeping things safe as well .

Either your Media is telling porkies or we get different news out side of Vic .

That wouldn’t surprise me at all - well, overall the media aren’t the perfect weather vane on what is actually going on, but rather how they can bend and sensationalise any story for their own benefit.

Being out amongst it every day in different locations of Melbourne for work show me different things from what the media portray at times.

social distancing isnt a new thing for me. i do it all the time cause i dont like being near people.
take a look at NZ, they went for elimination early, at great cost.. and now they are back to it right down to having stadiums full of people watching the footy

no such luck in AU ....

it is now becoming patently clear that, almost without exception, all the specialists in this field believe we cannot have a stable ecomomy without elimination, suppression simply isn't reliable enough as Vic and NSW are now showing us.

still too early to see if QLD has been dragged back into the mire by opening borders up again.

Tasmania must be expecting something as QLD is included with Vic and NSW in the no go list.

Most people get infected indoors, so being outside could be safer than at home.
