Good article - also explains some of what happened in Victoria, where superspreaders' impact was exacerbated by their large families - like the current Chadstone cluster.

News just to hand Donald Trump & wife have tested positive to Covid 19 , that should shut him up for a while. Looks like there could be at least 20 staff infected also & he may have also infected people at his rally .

Yes, agreed. A very well written article. A lot to get the head around but worth the read time. Deterministic R0 vs stochastic k overdispersion. Explains a lot about how we have seen some infections go feral and yet some other incidents have not. Some of those links within the article lead to some interesting reads too.

This is interesting. The Melbourne hotel quarantine workers did not get infected in the hotels.
They were infected in the community and went to work before showing symptoms. So that kills the assumptions they got it from returned travellers because of lax infection controls. Not true. They got it in the community.
The story lists 9 hotel workers, mostly from Spotless, but also a police officer and others.
That would be consistent with aged care workers also getting infected in the community and taking the virus into aged care homes, where 665 elderly died in Victoria.
So that has obvious implications for the hotel quarantine inquiry, where people have tried to blame certain people, which I won't spell out because this isn't the Current Affairs section.

I wish the constant harping on about opening up State & Federal borders would cease for a while , the focus should be on containing this virus as best we can not opening up avenues for it to spread .

What is funny (sad) is a country as large as the USA that can only field these two to face off as the next President. Tragic and emblematic of a country is chaos and decline.

Contact tracing and localised controls along with people diligently sanitising, wearing masks etc. does that, not keeping borders closed
