Allowed cap for Australia is 6250 per week - I cannot find the current figure for NSW but it was 3150 mid year so is now somewhere around 3500 of which a large proportion are heading to other States. So WA needs to lift its game.
WA approach of closing its border is nonsense - they need to take a similar approach to other States and target the hotspots - for sure if this outbreak spreads statewide then things change and shut borders but is a bit of an over reaction at the moment.
I have been critical of the Qld response in the past but this time around they are doing exactly what is to be expected - measured and appropriate - maybe WA should follow suit.

SubscriberWhere a lot of the States are going to **** themselves up is by being idiotically parochial and saying to themselves "Oh, Melbourne ****ed up but you'd expect that, they're Victorians. That won't happen to us, we're [insert state] and we're superior to Victorians."
Really?
NSW ****ed up right at the start with the Ruby Princess but nonetheless their contact tracing was better organised and funded than Victoria's and their health department less dysfunctional - Victoria has now emulated the NSW regional health model, increased contact tracing resources and reorganised the health department into something more manageable and rational. There's now a specific COVID-19 government body. Failures were publicly examined and the lessons learnt.
When Vic reintroduced international flight they focussed on something that had occurred to me - why were international arrivals even being allowed into the terminals? How were international and domestic passengers going to be kept separate? That's basically how NSW let the German family get through to Melbourne a couple of weeks ago. So now international passengers arriving into Melbourne don't even get into the terminal - they walk off the plane onto the tarmac and onto busses and are taken straight to the quarantine hotels.
That's a lesson the other States could learn. Do you think that they will?

I hope so Arapiles. The whole country has to be much better prepared & organised & who does what & how & when & where & with what..
We all have to learn something out of this complex mess or it has been a wasted opportunity for future generations.
It would be criminal if every future generation had to start from scratch again when ever something like this emerges again.
Canberra could have something eve better.

Queensland residents who are in the Greater Sydney area have until 1:00am on Tuesday to return to the state and will have to get tested and quarantine at home on arrival, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says.
She said residents of Greater Sydney would not be allowed to travel to Queensland from 1:00am tomorrow.
There are still concerns about positive COVID-19 samples in sewage testing in Townsville, North Cairns, Cleveland and the Gold Coast.
Ms Palaszczuk is urging residents in those areas to get tested.
"Any symptoms whatsoever, even if they are mild, please go and get tested. It is absolutely important that Queenslanders do that," she said.
