That'd fix their ****ing duff for a while, then let them swim back to Port Adelaide after 16 days. Can't swim? "Sorry mate they are ze rules & ze rules must be followed." Basil Fawlty stylee

EEERRRR, yeah right mate [ as he slowly walks backwards out the door, careful not to make eye contact], what ever you say...........
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Totally agree, Bob! I suggested this option, to quite a few people, around March this year. Surely putting people up overseas can't be that much more expensive than managing the consequences of infected arrivals. It would definitely lessen the threat of things getting out of control!

I suppose that it's easy for me to suggest, being ensconced in splendid isolation!

Do I detect a note of hesitancy in my plan for a 100% scheme for an Covid Free OZ created by Intl. Aircrews?

That would be disappointing. Watch out for the Garden Hose as you back out the door, it's at the bottom of the steps.

    ****! Too late.

Stephney, just think of all those cushy number of jobs, ie. security & other that wouldn't be needed Are you seriously wanting to put people out of work?

No no nooooo, my plan would embrace the best of both worlds. Let arrivals in & let them wander around freely for about a week, anywhere they wish to go, Aged Care homes, Hospitals, Kids schools, anywhere, anywhere at all after all this is a Democratic & Free country

Then without warning, ZAP, "off to Torrens Island with you my lads. Right get Fell in." "Hosties" to the right. Blokes form up smartly on my left, there are your hovels.

"Hosties", over there are your 5 star digs & free off-licence courtesy of The Australian Gubmint..

Enjoy your stay. Now where did I leave those padlocks?

Hang on, I think I may have a temperature & a sore throat coming on. Bugger.

I think Victorians are the only people in Australia who understand fully now the implications of giving this virus an inch . A hard lesson to learn, but one that must be appreciated .

You should really write a script for John Cleese.

No aspirations in that direction bob. I suspect it may be my temp of 42c that causes it.

You have a good imagination. Don't ever lose it. No matter what the young whipper snippers may say.

    From another forum.

Quote: There's gaps everywhere. I work on the wharfs and I see it. There are plenty of ships coming here inside the 14 day period. Crew arent supposed to be off their ships unless it's for specific work duties wearing masks. They have been caught off their ships just taking a stroll, not wearing masks when onshore etc. Private(external) company workers not wearing masks supplying food etc to ships and interacting with crews. External Aussie workers cleaning hatches not wearing masks while on board.
When Port workers report the breaches the answer received is Border Force have put strict rules in place only for foreigners(and these arent enforced because they would have to be at each ship 24/7). Each Aussie company is responsible for the own employees safe Covid work practices.
This is only in the Port I'm at, so there will be gaps in every international visit, air or sea. The only way it can be controlled is by having police/border force/army guarding and enforcing strict rules, which is impossible when you look at the volume of trade. Shutting down trade is impossible. Humans are by nature selfish beings. Hurry up vaccinations, thats the only fix. Unquote.
