Our PM has said he has " secured " more of the pfiser vaccine, secured does not mean delivered. And we do not know when the new lot will arrive. It's been all spin and smoke and mirrors , with States being blamed for ruining the economy with the shutdowns, when in reality it was the shutdowns that saved us from being another Italy, or even America. Our economy seems ok [ thanks to iron ore prices, more than anything else.] Last month , our health Minister proclaimed a " momentous day " when the program to vaccinate over 70's was announced, " the largest logistical exercise ever undertaken in this country" he said. Everything is going great guns, we were told. I went to the vaccination place to make an appointment, about a week after that announcement. They told me that they couldn't make any appointments, because they were only getting 10 bottles of vaccine at a time, at random intervals, and were not told when , so it was put your name on the list and wait for our call. that was three weeks ago. Then when it became clear there was a problem, the gov. blamed the States. Then they blamed the EU, it's just as well Ned Kelly isn't alive or they would blame him, I reckon. Our aged care residents and workers , a federal responsibility, still have not been fully vaccinated. There's more, but I've said enough.

I will post in CA an article by Paul Bongiorno which expands on my comments, in the Vaccination rollout thread.

You should have banged on their counter while getting a maniacal expression on your face (think normal) screamed loudly "OI I am a Vet you know" (Vet as in Veteran, not a Horse doctor, you are aren't you?) I demand my jaB. SCOMO SAID IT WAS WAITING FOR ME, SO COUGH UP or I'll call Ned, or Clint"

Counter person. "Not our fault mate, blame the EU they haven't got their arse into gear yet"

Worth a try, I mean what's the worse that can happen? Call the cops & have you done for disturbing the peace is what & it'd be no good saying "4bee said" either. Some cops have cloth ears & who in their right mind would have a name like 4bee FFS? "Hurry up, & watch your head getting into the Patrol Car."

Don't blame the EU. They have already rebutted the Gov.. claim. Notice the Gov didn't double down [ there's that 21st century word again] on their rebuttal. Banging on the counter, going all Victorian on them, is not how we roll up here , mate. We respect our health workers. And, consequently , they respect us. And that is not how real veterans roll, either.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Funny: wife went for Vitamin B shot, mentioned needing jab to our long time GP, fitted in at 7 :40 next Morning on first day of jabs. We are both over 70.

The advantages of being a long term patient at the clinic I guess.

    Regards PhilipA
