Perhaps the reason we are keen to vaccinate children is to avoid a situation like this or maybe worse.

"State health officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs said in a tweet Tuesday that seven children are in the ICU and two are on life support because of a surge in delta variant cases.

Don't forget that "survived" just means they didn't die. It tells you nothing about possible serious long term health issues.

What a shame. On the other side, the Americans are talking about reforming their first fleet and basing it in Singapore. ATM they don't have enough ships. The Brits chased the past with two useless giant carriers, the Americans went down the track of littorial fighting ships , costing a mint. The yanks are turning back to more conventional ships, but the Chinese have them worried with their new missiles. The big carriers are just targets. One senior Admiral is saying the next 6 years could see us at War. But hey, the Wallabies are on the way back, whats to worry.

In the private sector, boss seeks contractors, negotiates rate and then at the eleventh hour contractor reneges. Or boss gives job to driver, drives thinks "don't like that one best I have a sickie".

You cannot compare military functions with private sector. As soon as money is involved all bets are off.

No one will take this seriously here until the virus impacts on them personally.

It's also because they get it at school and bring it home and infect the parents. Some how or other this is largely overlooked.

Anyone who has lived with a primary teacher would understand.

One could suggest the RN ain't that professional at the top end if that has happened.
