Back in Feb, after working in Sydney I got a bad flu that included a head ache that wouldn't respond to paracetamol. I was refused testing for coronavirus because I hadn't been to Wuhan and didn't have a cough. Later on when I did get tested to rule out a sniffle as the virus the doctors agreed that, yes, I should've been tested back in Feb. Given that I'm in a high risk group I wanted to know if I had had it, so I requested an antibody test - and go told no, because it was more than three months after the possible infection ....

It is doubtful that you had it. Knowing won’t help as you can get infected again by this point. As they inferred it is impossible that you would have antibodies at this point if infected seven months ago.
Right ....
(1) According to the doctors, from the symptoms I had there's a very good chance that it was asymptomatic coronavirus: but I already knew that because, ironically, at the time I was advising clients on it, and was aware that the symptoms didn't necessarily include cough or fever. Which I told DHHS at the time. And given that I was working next to Circular Quay, the locus of Australia's first serious outbreak (and actually wondering why people seemed to be coming off the cruise ships without being checked), shopping in Chinatown, staying in accommodation popular with Chinese tourists and regularly catching the airport train there was certainly the opportunity;
(2) As far as I'm aware globally there's only been two confirmed cases of reinfection, so I'd suggest that there's only a very remote possibility that I could get infected again. I also understand that the antibodies issue is still up in the air.
The point is that as an asthmatic I'm in what's nominally a high risk group - although, as it turns out they now think that asthmatics aren't as vulnerable as they presumed, and they're not sure why. Nonetheless, it would be helpful to know that I'd had it and it didn't kill me.

Right on. It seems some of these "well meaning" foundations are a Taxation front/dodge & history will later show (usually in a Royal Commission) that the cash doesn't flow to those who it was supposedly set up for. There is one exception that this may not apply to, The McGrath Foundation (Cancer Nurses) & I would be very disappointed if that proved, one day, to be a bit dodgy.
Funny olde thing History.
