See Twiggy has been putting on a bit of weight........

Haven't we all? Bloody C-19! Well certainly I have as well as 'er indoors.

There is no excuse for Twiggy as he probably hasn't given up drinking the best wines in the world, caviar, Lobster etc while "locked up" & it will be the high Cholesterol that will do for him.

I know I know, Seafood isn't fattening but he probably hasn't been using his own Private in house Gym(s) either.

Yeah, & as Roy & his Pardner 4bee would say "Happy Trails, Ian".

"The study was posted online on Wednesday and has not yet been vetted by experts for publication. But several researchers said it was careful and elegant, showing in multiple ways that the virus can infect brain cells."

"The coronavirus targets the lungs foremost, but also the kidneys, liver and blood vessels. Still, about half of patients report neurological symptoms, including headaches, confusion and delirium, suggesting the virus may also attack the brain. A new study offers the first clear evidence that, in some people, the coronavirus invades brain cells, hijacking them to make copies of itself. The virus also seems to suck up all of the oxygen nearby, starving neighboring cells to death. "

Despite the caveats attached to mouse studies, the results still suggest that virus infection in the brain may be more lethal than respiratory infection, Dr. Iwasaki said. The virus may get to the brain through the olfactory bulb — which regulates smell — through the eyes or even from the bloodstream. It’s unclear which route the pathogen is taking, and whether it does so often enough to explain the symptoms seen in people.“I think this is a case where the scientific data is ahead of the clinical evidence,” Dr. Muotri said.
The lady at the youth centre, that recently tested positive, actually had as her first symptom a very bad headache that wouldn’t go away.
She went to the doctor and as an off chance, the doctor thought a COVID test would be a good idea.

Seems many also have heart issues after having the virus.

Thanks James, but no prob for me. Why? Well first they have to locate the Brain cells That'll set them back 200 years at least. Well that's what 'er indoors reckons anyway & she should know.

Dr. Iwasaki sounds like a James Bond Character to me so just how genuine this info is could be anyone's guess, I guess.

Seriously though, we intend to keep up the washing of the hands & social distancing etc etc until this thing is knocked on the head, however long that may be or until I cark it due to Natural Causes. What else can one do? Zilch I reckon.

Right. Time for Coffee & iced Carrot Cake now.

    Sgd. Fat Bastard.

Could be but there's a long way to go before we really know I think - Cardiologist Dr Rohin Francis has just posted his latest video - checkout Medlife Crisis if you haven't - great channel. He and his Wife have both contracted and recovered from CV19 (He had more mild symptoms but his Wife was very sick for a while) and his views on this topic are worth listening to IMO.

Part of ‘If it Ducks like a Quack’ series -

He also has a couple of videos about medical data & statistics and how they are collected and used which is also very interesting. He’s bloody funny too, which makes his videos much easier to watch than some of the other Medical channels.

If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

It has been known for months that it is a systemic infection, not just a respiratory disease, as it can enter a number of different types of cell that have the ACE receptors as well as respiratory system cells. What is less clear is just what effects it can have on the organs it can infect.

No. The correct statement is "We are currently carrying out the phase 3 trials of this vaccine, and on completion of these trials, and assessment of the results, but not before, we will be certain that the vaccine is both effective and with no serious side effects in any of the test subjects. Extrapolating from these trials we are reasonably sure that the vaccine is safe and effective for the vast majority of people, provided it is stored, transported and administered in compliance with the specified directions."

No medical procedure (or anything else in life) is "sure", but a lot are close to it, including most vaccines.

Dr Norman Swan said the virus enters the nose, where there are nerves for smelling connected directly to the brain, so the virus can enter those nerves and move into the brain, which is scary.
