Another problem is the boss often is the only english speaker they have in close contact, and the boss is only going to tell them what he has to to keep them at work. And under control. Sound unbelievable in this day and age? You bet. But it's happening.

Have seen newspaper reports of Melb court cases in the last 10 years where migrant workers were being paid as low as $4 / hr.

Its mostly a cultural issue, compounded by a distrust of authority and the government. NSW needs to figure out better ways of communicating with these groups but I suspect that increased policing may be the only short term fix.

No way - some people voted for some people/person who was??? We have our Wacky in OZ just the same as else where. The Best is elsewhere thankfully.
