Some of them need a lot more Perhaps the 2 medical professionals could afford the 5k each? MOre than sure their peers will be give those to lots of extra shire

"At least two medical professionals were among dozens of people who attended a prohibited engagement party in Melbourne’s south-east that is now set to attract at least $350,000 in fines.

Premier Daniel Andrews lashed out at the organisers of the “uniquely bad” gathering attended by 69 people last week."

With my mum having a possibly a very serious medical condition, I am possibly going to be very unkind to people who knowingly contribute to the outbreak who get a $5000 fine or notI cannot visit my family with this lock down extended again

I wont post the clip of "Stay the **** at home" but hope those who should do. Its by
    "Chris Franklin & The Isolators"

    Funny as well as pointed

There must be a lot of it going on because every time we have a lockdown my street empties out: I'm in the inner-City and there's heaps of apartments in our street, so the on-street parking at this time of night is usually about 98% full, but I went out just then and counted at least a dozen car spaces near my house, and a couple of residents' cars that are usually there are noticeably missing. Do they have places outside Melbourne? Don't know, but the particular couple whose car is missing are .... unpleasant people .... so it wouldn't surprise me.

Today, wife rings and says her doctor has cancellation of a jab this Thursday, I accepted only to than be told I need an appointment prior to the jab to discuss with doctor which needs to be Tuesday…..so two appointments, both bulk billed, for the 1 jab.

Why do I need two appointment with private doctor and only 1 15min appointment at the hub?

I don’t get why it cannot be done in the one appointment……I smell a rat.
IME, booked for first AZ 4 weeks ago at a private practice / clinic.

Do I need advice from the GP?

No. That is my choice, 62 yo.

Fine, if just the shot it's bulk billed.

Had the shot last week, verbal consent recorded by a GP in the room, nurse with RSI from giving shots all day was witness I presume.

The whole deal was like a well oiled machine and 10 minutes ahead of schedule.

I can see that in a clinic you'd need a separate appointment if you needed advice.

    They are all up here!

During Melbournes lockdown the number of Melbourne cars and Melbourne people here grows rapidly each day. Normally the afternoons sees very few people in the supermarket and way more empty car spaces than occupied ones. But not now. The supermarket is packed with non locals all day long and finding a car park sees laps been done until one appears. Covid compliance designed to keep people home is simply non existant.

    From the New York Times coronavirus update;

90 % vaccination may be the way to go. In Chicago, a four day music festival, Lollapalooza, went ahead despite worries it could be a superspreader event. The Festival went ahead, with restricted access to people who were fully vaccinated, or had proof of a negative test. 385,000 people attended, and so far only 203 cases have been traced to the event. At least 90 % of attendees were vaccinated.

Hawaii, on the other hand, despite having 65 % of adults fully vaccinated , is an exception to the trend of imposing minimal restrictions , still setting weekly case records.

The general opinion of decision makers in the US [ FWIW] is that getting vaccinated and mask wearing [ including in schools] when needed should be enough to fight the current Delta surge off.

Delta is surging in the US, with new cases [ 130,000/day] almost double last Summer's peak levels. Hospitalisations have also reached their highest levels since winter. Parts of the South have shattered case records as the delta variant overwhelms intensive care units.

Vaccination rates still lag, with only about half of Americans fully vaccinated. The bottom line is the USA has recorded 36.7 million coronavirus cases and 621 thousand deaths since the pandemic began. Louisiana , part of a surge in Southern States with low vaccination rates , is seeing 5,800 new cases a day. Florida has the USA's worst hospitalisation rate.

And about 95% of hospital admissions, and almost all deaths, are unvaccinated. I have seen it described as "the pandemic of the unvaccinated".

"You eat hot dogs, chicken nuggets and processed meat all your life and yet your worried about the jab because you don't know what's in it?"
