Well I have to eat humble pie after my post the other day about having to have two appointments at a doctors surgery v one at hub.

I rarely see a doctor amd I thought today visit was just to get a tick in the box for Thursday jab clinic. I thought I was going to just sit amd listen than just say yes at the end.

He spent every minute consultation, maybe longer discussing the options……I certainly learnt more in that 15min session than I have on the news or webpages. This guy was young and very passionate about COVID and broke the pros and cons of each jab down nicely. locality os also a driver, if I was currently in Sydney than take any jab that’s on offer. Now I see why this clinic hesitant to just deliver AZ to anybody wanting it as the number stack up for phisher. There is no way I would have got this info at a hub…

So tomorrow I’m going to see if I can get a phisher jab before 1st Oct, if I cannot I’ll get my AZ jab on Thursday.

Given I travel interstate for work he could see my reasons for not waiting for phisher…..

He went on to say he is fairly certain aussies will be offered a third jab next year, not sure if this has been in the news or not. ….either way if you have had two AZ you’ll be offered a phisher, cannot remember which vaccine you’d get if you have had two phisher, don’t think it was AZ. If you happened to have had Johnson amd Johnson you can get any off the other vaccines.

Posted ages ago about the 5 yo who brought home a little present for daddy from kindergarten.

That was during the first outbreak in Vic. Dad (31 ish) is still not right.

Have two work colleagues based in Malaysia, we get an update from them every Friday.

My counter part started maybe 6 weeks ago and has only just been allowed to travel to site this week. I don’t think he can travel to our other site due to location.

It mind boggling what we have had to come up with to get raw material from the mine to the plant.

One of the children infected while in home quarantine here was only one year old. No children were in the ICU, I believe, but a couple went to hospital, and were allowed parent/s to stay with them.

Kids were getting infected with the early variants (and transmitting it) but no one seemed to worry because they didn't get seriously ill.

None were required to wear masks when it was mandated for adults and none were tested.

Too traumatic in both cases, I presume.

Different ball game with delta unfortunately.

That is chilling. Here is a talk from Dr Lucas DE Toca on the Lamda variant, peak spreaders, and getting a covid vaccination while sick.

You just won’t be likely to snuff it because you have it.

Therefore it’s not going to stop it moving around, just will cause lower loads on the health system.

And on talk back radio today came an interesting observation. With no covid cases at large in SA, there was still huge ramping issues at hospitals.
If we cannot handle daily medical, we have no hope of handling a Covid break-out.
So if you breath in the the virus, it needs to get into your system and incubate before it starts using you as a host to spread to other people - the spreading doesn't begin from the moment you breath it in.

When properly vaccinated, of the people that would have got covid from an exposure, you will be 80-90% less likely to have a break through infection, which is getting covid from that exposure despite proper vaccination. Even if you are exposed to covid, but don't get a break through infection of covid then you won't spread covid to other people. You don't carry and transmit covid but not be infected by covid also. This is why it will be a pandemic of the unvaxinated.

If you do get covid and are properly vaccinated then you're also 90% less likely to end up in hospital compared to unvaxinated. If you are properly vaccinated it is very doubtful you will die from it. I had heard nobody who is double Vaccinated has died in Aus, but I'm not sure that this is still true.
