I got a parcel last week.
The entire address on the package was:
    The Manager
    Doomadgee R/H

That was all, so not bad.
Mind you, not that many places in Doomadgee.

I found a parcel from AP balanced on a little wooden box I have at the front door for this sort of thing, about 30X60X90 cm's, and if they had bothered to they could've slipped the parcel in the box it would've fitted easily!

The other day I heard a quiet double tap on the door, after a short debate with the cat whether that was anything or not, (it didn't even hear it), I went to look out the front window with no one to be seen. Later I found an AP failed to deliver note stuck in the screen door! Today I went to collect it and the latest insult to add to injury is, they don't provide pens for their customers to use anymore, all in the name of covid I suppose, however they are a available for purchase at 80c each.

We are in a rural area and the Aussie post contractor has never attempted to deliver a parcel in 25 years even if you have provided authority to leave and even if they see you waving at them. Drop the card in the mail box ignore you and take off down the road. We then have to go and collect from the post office but not the one that is nearest (and where our PO Box is) but one that is 10km off in a different direction! And if we can’t get there within 5 days (and not open on weekends) the parcel goes even further away to another Post Office. I have tried and tried to get everything redirected to the PO Box but that is just too difficult for them to process

When ever I buy anything on line I ask for it to be sent to our PO Box , then you get the company's who will not send to PO boxes , when I ask why , O because it is coming by courier. Then when I find a card in door saying package can be picked up from Post Office & it is never the local but one at large shopping centre were you can never get any parking.

I have found if something is coming via DHL or FedEx it always goes straight to the postoffice, Toll and TNT sometimes deliver but don’t give an eta...if you can get a tracking number you may be able to redirect to your POB alternatively to parcel collect which is the street address of the PO. None of these are full proof... it is pretty poor

I always find that one interesting. Why can't the deliver to a PO Box. If it was a house next to the PO they would as they still have to get off their arse.

Ex PO box**** seemed to work as well.

One of the local PO folk suggested to address it to the street address ( ie. Number) of the PO & have the parcel marked POSTE RESTANTE which means they will or did hold it at said PO. Why not check them out?

    poste restante

    /pəʊst ˈrɛst(ə)nt/

    nounBritish

    noun: poste restante

a service offered by a post office whereby mail is kept for an agreed period until collected by the addressee.

Aust post won’t put packages from Couriers in a P.o. box or parcel locker but will hold them for pickup - go figure...
Anyone that can’t deliver to a Parcel Locker doesn’t get the sale for me. Had plenty of conversations with suppliers about this and a few who have down the right thing and changed delivery method to suit.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

I received a tracking number from Star Track this morning for something I ordered 3 weeks ago ( this is 1st notification & seller didn't supply tracking info) it started in Brisbane north side went to Darwin then back to Brisbane S/W suburb . It was for delivery to my PO Box . It has been sitting at the PO for 5days & I have been there 3 times in the last 5 days to PU mail & parcels & the lady knows my PO box number don't even have to give her the slip they put in the box she just goes & gets it . If I had not received the notice from Star Track it would be still sitting there.

Parcels are certainly collecting more frequent fliers this year than we are. But they are taking some extremely bizarre routes that they didn’t appear to previously..

God knows what logic (if any) is behind these routes.
