Hope all goes well there. I know that you're aware of how some 'Controlled burns' on Moreton have gone, too.

Try Bribie. Some great camping spots, no barge fees, quick trip to town.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

    Moreton is booked

Not overly keen on Bribie way too many day trippers

    Don’t need shops.

    Good choice. Might be crowded.

Tourists ordered to stay away from popular holiday spot as fire rages

Tourists ordered to stay away from popular holiday spot as fire rages (yahoo.com)

Queensland's world heritage-listed Fraser Island will close to tourists from 5pm on Friday as a six-week-old bushfire continues to test firefighters.

Tourists have been ordered to stay away from Queensland's world heritage-listed Fraser Island as a massive bushfire continues to test firefighters.

The six-week-old blaze - which has burned through 74,000 hectares - is expected to flare over the weekend as weather conditions deteriorate.

Access for visitors will close from 5pm on Friday, but people already on the island can stay, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services says.

    Have you considered Moreton?

We were supposed to be on fraser right now but switched to Moreton.....

To our surprise the eastern beach camping is very quite, we had plenty of site to choose from yesterday. West and northern beaches will be busy I guessing, will confirm this over the next few days.

While the price of the barge can be daunting but when you crunch the numbers on travel time, and distance it stacks up OK for us.
