Just an up date, the bathroom tiles are being laid, the guy has been here for the last 3 days, they are now on the home stretch with it. The plumber has to come back and put the shower/grab rail/toilet/vanity back. The painters are to come, so that will be next week.
So there isn't much to do here now. Just have to wait for the lift to arrive from overseas, they say the ship is to dock on the 17th, and will depend on how long it take to clear customs. They they will do a site inspection, the concrete base and paths was done last week. So if all goes well we should have the lift installed next month. This has been the longest haul to get this done, if NDIS didn't stuff around last year. Heather
The builders still need to silicone the floor to the wall to floor tiles and clean up and paint.
we provided all the wall and floor tiles and fittings as you only get basic from the NDIS. Same for the Hardware. I hate the look of safety vinyl floor with the weld up the centre as it's 2 metre wide. We managed to find ceramics that exceeded the slip R rating. The safety rail and shower rose to Spec so didn't have to get the cheap bulky hospital look hardware the NDIS supplies.
I had a timber floor that had to be pulled up and relaid to make a stepless shower base. Now the carers and support staff can wheel me into it in safety.
some in progress pics. the colours in pics are not accurate due to lighting. The wall tiles are a white colour with a light grey mist

IMG20210517111727.jpg While some may think Mario has failed in his form of several admiring ladies checking his hoisting style. Rest assured two ladies were on the Dock supervising this event today. John (Tins) and I did admire and participate.
The trial proved very worth while as while the Parks Vic Hoist is not quite right. The information from the Parks Vic Crew will see Mario in my boat in a short time and in his own fish pond at Western port.
A Taxi tout like NDIS man ambushed Mario post this fun. He might be a bit useful so we didn't feed him to the fish
Tim- a "Leisure Therapist" helps people with disabilities do Sports and Recreation. Solve Disability Solution NDIS funded if you use them. We may not need Tims help now despite his very good sales pitch. Mario, John and I may be able to pinch a hoist from a Sailing crew to use at a Boat Ramp at the North end of Western Port. Oddly the hoist we used today has never been used before. We were the crash test dummies. Mario tried twice as all good Landy owners know gets you the gongIt is not high enough to lift people out of a wheel chair so get a tick for trying and a Zero for design and planning. Happily the information obtained will get Mario on the water
Mario and I did not get a good chat yet. Poor sod is going to have to put up with me in my boat - Confined space and no escape- His Nightmare might move from the NDIS to Navy Divers fishing trips soon![]()
nice to finally meet you Navy Diver even though we couldn't get much of a chat with you and John.
Dont worry about the confined space. I actually have a certificate for confined space entry, ( l used to do entries into boilers and tanks and huge mixers)
Landy owners are good at modifying the wheel, it they allowed us to reinvent the wheel
The lift must be made for umpas lumpas as they are shorter..
The pic of me makes me look thinner, did you not have the wind angle lens on.![]()
