They would have been the Cockney Queenslanders. Descendants of the mob who wandered aimlessly in the Palmer region looking for gold, or any dropped coins, back in the day.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Well Bob, ‘bleedin” wasn’t the real word . I just used a word more in keeping with this campfire thread

But you are right, a lot wandered aimlessly , until Origin !

Still do, around these parts , at least until opening time.

It has always surprised me that the Locals (Am I a local after almost 30 years?, probably not.) in Doomadgee are terrified of snakes.
They just won't go near them & consider them all deadly.
When any are in or around the Roadhouse compound they want me to kill it, even if it's up the back somewhere & a Childs Python.
Depending on the snake & where it is I just move them over the road into the bush or leave them be.
I have had fun with a couple of little pythons, bring them into the Roadhouse & letting them go.
Works better than any Fire Evacuation drill!

Walked a lot more than 3 feet in the high country. My FAV place. You missed my favorite beautiful snake I see far too in frequently our Red Bellied Black Snake. Honestly think they are beautiful and add they are not adverse to my following them for a pic or two.

I think the fear of them is grossly overstated. It is a lucky day when I do see one.

Did you also work in a newspaper / TV station ? On a Sunday afternoon you could on those slow days, stroll through Editorial and smell the.....Panic.

Absolutely nothing unusual about that, So if you dont like snakes simply stay away from their feeding areas during summer.
Gotta admit, I'd get snakey with anyone trampling through MY Dining room when I'm munching...

Where would you start, trying to relocate a snake that weighed over a tonne? Lessons from Roger Banister?
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
