Covid News
The kids are big news. I was a bit surprised to see today the under 5s will be in the mix come Jan along with the 5 to 11 year olds. A single for 6 months to 5 and two tiny injections for the 5 to 11 year old crew.
Still happy we are waiting to see the outcome of the large numbers of kids now getting vaccinated in the US. More information makes for better science than the 3000 included in the testing done![]()

The article provides its own answer in the first paragraph About 67% of people in Germany are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. But experts have warned from the beginning of the rollout that the number is not high enough to keep the virus under control. The vaccination numbers required are much higher than than this has has been proven by NSW and now Victoria (905 cases today, well done...). Germany has a different situation with regard to restrictions though, as they classify those who have been infected previously the same as those who have been vaccinated.
Probably not worth concerning yourself about unless you want to feel miserable though, as even WA has a higher vaccination rate

You do realise this isn't going to be stopped, but if WA folk had have done what they are supposed to do quicker, the boarders would be open, then i can book my tickets to see a specialist i need to see in WA, but i'll just suffer a bit longer.
I'm actually quite surprised it hasn't gone rampant over there with all the ships coming and going and the lack of covid control on them.
Maybe where you live it can't be stopped But here in the west it HAS been stopped in it's tracks via border closures and Good managementYou do realise this isn't going to be stopped,
It IS unfortunate that you are unable to see your chosen doctor here in the West But don't blame WA for that drama instead blame your own State government's **** weak handeling of this pandemic for that problem.

WA has not experienced a major Covid incident due to its natural isolation and pure arse. I spent a few weeks in the south and southwest of the state, last year. Apart from the interstate truck drivers, I saw almost no Covid protocols observed.
When they do get an outbreak, when not if, as it's only a matter of time; it'll run rampant because of the Sandgropers' cavalier attitude to vaccination and hygiene protocols.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
I understand all that. There seems to be a feeling we are out of trouble here in Aus. but if you look around the world, the numbers just don't point to the fact we should be complacent. Also, NSW Health has said it will no longer provide a list of locations for regional and rural NSW on its website, even though 80 of Sundays cases were recorded across regional NSW. Is this an attempt to hide the numbers? Moree Mayor, Katrina Humphries, expressed concern and said the decision was " very disappointing.". She went on to say " We've just been thru the issues around a lack of location advice. It puts fear into people, and just because big urban areas may be out of the woods, it doesn't mean regional areas are ".
There may be an excellent reason for doing what they are doing, but it obviously hasn't been communicated clearly. There were also concerns about delays communicating information about school outbreaks in Sydney. A Randwick Public school student tested positive on Wednesday, Nov. 3 , but an official notice wasn't issued until after school on Friday. To top it off, Delta mark 2 has been listed as a virus of concern in India. I can assure you no one is feeling miserable in QLD, and I'm sure you can't blame us for wanting to keep it that way. Considering the fact delta made its way from NSW to Victoria, and NZ, and Qld [ thankfully short lived] you must be aware any attempt to hide case numbers in NSW makes people nervous. I'm just stating facts BTW, not stirring any pot.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
They are just aligning regional NSW with Sydney, casual contact sites have not been published in Sydney since August. The publication of exposure sites is a little irrelevent when they are in the app and people are notified if they are a contact. My experience is that they probably have a negative effect on businesses as well. . There has always been delays in notifying casual contacts, the ACT system is notoriously up to a week behind in some cases and sites in Yass have been a few days behind as the priority has always been to trace close contacts before casual ones. There is no move to stop publishing case numbers that I am aware of though. I read the article regarding the Moree mayor tyring to make a case that the publishing of case numbers would somehow have a negative effect and it sounded a bit like a whinge to me, NSW health still publicise the site if there is perceived to be a public risk, just not the ones where it is unlikely to be transmitted.
