Cripes! Making for lots of Steppes are they? Appears that they made those Rocks just in time, just need to be a tad bigger.

Best tell Sash that news snippet. No idea where he is now. Sashy, Sashy, come out where ever you are.

Never mind, his Relly has probably told him already over a drinky or two.

The US booster studies reviewed in Corona cast as well were interesting.

On the negative side the low significant impacts in South Africa just might be attributed the generally younger ages of the infected there

Avg age is South Africa is 27 ish years old. US is 38ish we are 37ish. That will be watched carefully in EU. UK and other places the new variant is moving about now.

Had to chuckle about the 10 plus cases from the protestors her in Melbourne. One of whom infected 10 more people I wonder of they join the counter protests when they recover? Perhaps the Protests should be called a Covid Party?

    EDIT.

Instead of Muggings in the streets for one's wallet & Moby there could be Muggings in the street to give Anti Vax folk a Jab. Should catch on in the US.

Cops. "While you are lifting their wallets/phone give them a jab with the other hand. Job done. Thank you Sir/Maam, Have a nice day."

Doesn't seem to be too much news about the 4 Wallabies & 1 staff member who caught COVID while on Barbarian duties, South African players were in the mix.

The fifth case of the new variant in NSW visited several venues on the NSW Central coast. Here we go again?

Chief Medical Officer says early indications are that OMICRON is more virulent than Delta but less dangerous. If this is the case it should take over from Delta and have more cases but far less hospitalisations and deaths. We wait to see if the research backs up this early hypothesis.

Like it or hate it, it was always a matter of time. I wonder if the two month on 3rd dose is about to be adopted. It takes almost 2 weeks for vax delivery meaning IF Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) pulls that one I can order if not NFI as xmas my week off no iffs or buts

The Pm will blurt it out before we hear officially of course Given the positive wild in NSW for some days I am wondering if I start begging for the MAX for this Friday ordered two weeks ago? 'Buckley's and none' really now for the next two weeks for any vax provider! Almost all of us tossed out some . I did last night

We'''ve never made a successful vaccine for a coronavirus before. This is why it'''s so difficult - ABC News

What happens if a coronavirus vaccine is never developed? - CNN

Why a coronavirus vaccine may never be found

Scientists fear the hunt for a coronavirus vaccine will fail and we will all have to live with the 'constant threat' of COVID-19

    As an example:

"Sydney University professor of infectious diseases David Isaacs said a human vaccine had never been successfully developed against a coronavirus, including Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), two of this century's first epidemics.
"It's possible we will never get a coronavirus vaccine," he said in an interview with AFR Weekend."

In any case, the professor was wrong on two counts, because a SARS vaccine had been developed.

I've posted this before, but if we're talking virus vaccines some might find the content interesting............... especially terms like 'attenuation' which gets used by the far right to attach a sinister slur on the Wuhan lab.

I knew this woman......... she was a a visitor at my father's place in Eltham most Sunday afternoons. They both worked at Fairfield.

There's a lesson in there about paying too much attention to the experts the media trot out to drive readership.

    Regards,

In February I was giving presentations on Covid to a client and did a fair bit of research around it, and I was living in Asia when SARS was around (in fact I was supposed to go work in Taiwan on a project during their outbreak but my employer didn't like my terms for doing so, so I ran the project from Tokyo instead) so I'd read about the SARS vaccine that was developed but never completed human trials, so I knew that you could create a vaccine for a coronavirus.
