And they will Remember. I have never experienced/observed such a Govt since WW2 & I am sure history will reflect that.

A lot of the panic has as much relevance as when we were being told "you are not locking down hard enough" yet Victoria had exactly the same rate of infection growth a couple of weeks later, despite the most restrictive regulations by far. We are highly vaccinated, it is likely that that will prevent serious symptoms in most people.
Boosters are available at 5 months - go get them
Wear masks as is sensible, we are grownups, it shouldn't need a government to make it mandatory, although in most settings where it matters it already is mandatory ( where you can't social distance such as public transport. Retail has NEVER been a major transmission location for covid until now, maybe Omicron will change that but we are vaccinated, remember.

If you don't want to catch covid maybe reconsider going to that nightclub (maybe not a major concern for most on here)

Yes exactly as Delta does and the variants before it. No different with Omicron except it seems more contagious and maybe a bit milder in its symptoms.

Hopefully the vaccinations are quickly adaptable. This will end up being like the flu vaccination, except maybe twice yearly.

It’s been said in meetings - it’s not a case of ‘if’ you get Covid, but rather ‘when’ you get it- and how your immune system responds will make the difference.

I wonder how many asymptomatic cases there are at any one time and how many there have been?

Millions? Billions world wide - Several who visit our place only tested as close contact are fully asymptomatic.

Note NSW was not happy being second to us Mexicans and now has the record for cases detected[wink11]

The hospital numbers are still 90% plus those who chose to go the odd way. Suspect with the very high transmission rate that will bite almost every last one of that group. US, UK, EU..... and almost everywhere is on a huge upward trend.

W.A. is gold again for now.

99% of over 70s are fully vaccinated happily. Unhappily Astra Zucchini seems poor protection with out the 3rd dose booster. That is a worry plus I think. Roll on January Vaccine supplies. Noting many Country Chemist and sites have geared up to help vax holiday makers. I love Country poeple [thumbsupbig]

We did get offers of vax for 23 December which I refused. had it been 7 days earlier I bet 3,000,000+ would have got a jab- Such is Life.

It will be interesting to see if the national cabinet this afternoon overules ATAGI and moves to a 4 month booster, that would make me happier, not due for a booster until the middle of January.
