AMA and RACGP call for urgent reinstatement of COVID-19 telehealth items

Calls from a number of Chemist re people with Covid walking in to get Anti Virals prescribed for them add to the mess the lack of planning is creating.

Clever politicking - firstly, stop the free RATs.
Then the punters can’t do the test to prove they have Covid.
If you haven’t got proof of having Covid, no point having a Tele consult to get script for antiviral medication. So remove the Medicare rebate for Tele consults.
Makes sense to me.

See, I went and got a PCR test this morning and was told to isolate. Also under Qld health orders, required to isolate 7 days on + RAT. I could have just slipped by the chemist and got some panadol and lozenges. Could also have whipped into the supermarket for some bread and milk. No one would have been any wiser, lots of people around wearing masks.

But me, not being and arsehole, came straight home to seclude myself in my abode to wait out the next 7 days. I may need someone to drop in some bread and milk but I'll ration for now and see how I go. Could replace milk with beer, food will be getting low about day 8.

I could borrow my mate's drone and do a food drop. Might have to do the beer six pack by six pack. It won't carry a keg.

Word is from the QLD refugees I picked up is that many people in QLD are not doing as you are. They had Covid and were told repeatedly by hotel staff and management they did not have to[bigwhistle][bigwhistle][bigwhistle]

I did hear some thing about QLD hospitals going into melt down like us Mexican ones are. Mean while Vic health Minister ignored the Chief Health Officer and consulted experts [bigrolf][bigrolf][bigrolf]

2. Removed or reduced funding for your Chemist to home deliver GP prescribed Covid Antiviral medicine
3. Removed funding for RAT test for free ones ( people can pay or get PCR tests still)

Federal Gov can quickly help stop infected impacting on our hospitals and dying by giving back MBS funding! Ask your local perhaps unless you want more than 45 Covid dead per day as we have right now

A slight edit to that. Doctors do have Anti- Viral meds. need quick access for them to be most effective apparently. Thankfully I am not a Doctor [thumbsupbig]
